Re: Share your unpopular DMB opinions.

Because of Boyd’s situation, I’m glad LT44 is what it is as a send-off for him. Solid performances song in song out and a very good setlist. Dave’s vocals never really becomes an issue with me.

The music for UTTAD and Crash was written by Dave over a long period of time and road-tested ad-nauseum.

The band going into a studio with nothing only worked for BTCS and TLWS. Most likely because Dave was a young man.

The act of going into a studio with nothing has not worked since BTCS and TLWS.

    Stop making albums.

Post 2001, the best music from the band comes from Dave creating songs for the road.

In full agreement, LWS to me, is their best album by far. Makes you wonder how different things would have been if that was actually released instead of scrapped. Of course, the copy of tLWS that I have also has the studio Kind Intentions on it, and imo, has Roi's most beautiful playing on it.

Get in Line and #36 were the other songs recorded for tLWS, but they didn’t end up in the leaked version.

Kind Intentions was recorded during the UTTAD sessions in Woodstock, so the version you have could be from the UTTAD sessions. Someone just put it on tLWS for some reason.

While I agree that the albums have been weaker since 2001, I think them producing new albums is the only thing keeping them together. They'd get bored playing the old stuff and not promoting something new. The BWGK stuff definitely rejuvenated the band.

Somebody that works for the band gives Dave the DMBalmanac liberation list at the start of every tour.

Boy, me too. I mean, Hello Again seemed like a shoe-in, but I'm wondering what others they have up their sleeves.

It's more likely this version from '92

Definitely a random unpopular opinion but I hate Kit Kat Jam; at least with lyrics. Just came up on my playlist and I was reminded how much that song just sucks to me.

Same here. Just listened to the Warehouse version with Santana this morning and that jam is amazing. I'd never argue MF is a top tier DMB song, bit I'd honestly take it over nearly 1/2 of their catalogue at this point.

Evidently the poll suggests that this is unpopular, which is amazing, but That Girl is You is the worst song Dave have ever released in any capacity, ever. Fucking terrible.

I agree with you on versions with lyrics however I've really enjoyed the versions from 2013 (like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6ouC-KF-R0) with Rashawn playing the vocal melody.
