Id think that wouldve come out by now honestly, hes too big of a name. He lives a pretty low key life now and has for the better part of a decade.

You guys are lucky, MSG has got wise (for worse) and not has outrageous face prices for seats compared to any other venue on tour (for every act that comes through MSG). 100 level bowl seating is $200.

it was $125+fees for floor for vampire weekend.

I agree. I really respect that John hasn't gotten caught up in any of this bullshit; he could have easily leveraged his position in the industry to take advantage of people and he never did.

I wouldn't be worried. John seems like a stand-up guy. Especially these days.

I did happen to notice yesterday that John and Ryan unfollowed each other on social media. I'm just chalking it up to the fact that John played on the lead single for Ryan's upcoming record, and he's distancing himself from the controversy entirely.

It would suck to see him get nailed too. My big 3 are DMB, Ryan, and John. So that would REALLY suck.

Digging the tone on the ending solo. I appreciate that he hasn't just settled into a "this is how my strat sounds" niche. Maybe playing those PRS w/Dead and Co. has broadened.

There was a little slide passage in there that made me make a face (around 3:50). Really good, enjoy this whole tune.

I don't know anything, but from what I have gathered/picked up on is that he will probably release music in smaller doses moving forward--mostly due to music consumption being different now than it used to be. I wouldn't rule out a full length album at some point, but i think singles and EPs are probably what we should expect for a while.

I'm definitely going to be wrong in how he said it but on one of his Current Moods a few months ago he talked about how he liked the idea of releasing more singles...which was based on his current tour schedule, his label not pressuring him to do anything, and he just wasn't feeling an album.

Obviously that can change if he starts pumping out songs he likes, but I feel like we're in for random singles here and there for a bit.

I'm totally ok with him taking advantage of the streaming platform and releasing a new single every 6 months or so if it means getting new music from him more regularly.

The song is tits. Feels like a B-Side from Paradise Valley or Search for Everything

I don't mind NL, just like I don't mind most of Search for Everything, most of those songs just don't necessarily do a ton for me, but I don't dislike them by any means.

I think John just has this sort of internal struggle between his more roots/blues soul and his pop-song loving brain, and at this point, I think he's noticeably better at the former, or at least when the latter has heavy roots/blues influences.

Why does the melody sound incredibly familiar? did he play an early rendition of it on Current Mood a while back or something? I swear I've heard it before.

I really liked New Light. Fun pop song that sort of thrust him back into the general consciousness. It felt like the grown up version of Love on the Weekend.

love the track. feels like it should have been on paradise valley (which is a good thing).

the critic in me says the closing solo has me puzzled. it's the one he played on instagram that everyone loved but here, it just seems... idk how to explain it... muted? less energy? rehearsed to death?

anyway, good single. He's really on a roll and i hope we get more sooner.
