Initially I wasn't looking forward to this show based on the trailers. The clips and various promos have sold me a little more. I didn't realize it until Feige mentioned it at SDCC, but the head writer on this show, Jessica Gao, wrote Pickle Rick. So hopefully the best comedy bits were intentionally held back from advertisements. Not to mention with them showing off Charlie Cox, it feels like he'll be more than just a cameo.

If you're not aware, She-Hulk has been a 4th wall breaker for a long time in the comics. Apparently that will be featured in the show.

You want a bunch of MCU spam in the TV thread? Most of the Marvel, DC, Star Wars and bigger IP stuff has a general news thread plus show/movie specific threads. Not every thread is a big hit, but they're usually mutli-page. If this thread flames out it flames out.

I see that the Incredible Hulk is streaming on HBO Max. I may have to watch this for an Abominaton refresher, since the last time I saw this movie was pre-Endgame.

I know this filmed in 2021, so I wonder if William Hurt was healthy enough to do any scenes before he passed this year. This show could be setting up Thunderbolts, so I wouldn’t be shocked if they had planned on using him.

I wonder if they'll use his passing as a catalyst for forming the team. That could be a decent spin, and killing a character when their actor dies is a precedent that has been set by Disney with both Chadwick Boseman (T'challa) and Carrie Fisher (Leia).

I won't be able to watch until later, but it sounds like Daredevil will be a lighter take just because it's the tone of this show.

She-Hulk's Daredevil is a "Very Much Planned" New Version (Exclusive)

She-Hulk director Kat Coiro and head writer Jessica Gao would not officially rule on whether or not Cox's role is a continuation of the Daredevil stories or a variant with a fresh take but they did share their excitement to show new sides of a character fans got to know in the dark and gritty series.

"I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it, but it's very conscious and it's very much planned," Coiro said when asked if Daredevil is continuing his story from three seasons of a show which originally debuted on Netflix but now is available on Disney+. "That's all I can say."

Gao had a bit more to say about Daredevil, shedding some light of the new take for the character. "We were like, 'This is our version,' and it's true for any character," Gao said. "Like every character that we've used that existed in the MCU, it gets to be a little bit different on our show because you see them in very dramatic roles like these big high pressure, high stakes kind of situations but on our show because our show is more of a slice of life, they can kinda take a break from that." She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has already promised appearances from familiar MCU faces like Daredevil, Wong, Abomination, Hulk, and more.

"They get to take a little bit of a comedy vacation," Gao added. "Of course, after our show, they get to go back to save the world, saving the universe, very serious, intense story but on our show, they get to just take a little break and when the universe is not at stake like, 'What's going on with you?' They get a chance to really explore like a different part of their character because not everyone can be at a 10 saving the world every minute of every day."

This is not surprising. You can’t publicly dog a show that revolves around a strong female character.

The first episode is pretty meh though. Predictable for the most part which is fine. But it didn’t do much for my desire to watch more. I will though because I’m a marvel junky.

I can’t get over how bad the CGI is for her compared to Ruffalo. Why does the hair grow longer when she hulks out, and why does it look like a solid blob of black without any texture?

Episode had some funny moments, I just think this is going to be super corny like Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye.

The green is more shrek than hulk. It probably just looks a little weird b/c the CGI is on the meh side. It’s more cartoonish than how it looked in the movies.
