Lot of comments saying that’s not Sanibel, which was my first thought when I saw some of those high rises. Unless they changed it, I thought you couldn’t build over a certain number of floors in Sanibel.

I feel bad for all who lost their homes and I sincerely hope all are ok. But looking at that small strip of land… all I can think is who thought it was a good idea to build all of those homes there?

I'm not a Florida geography expert but I just played detective for a second and the buildings at 0:55-0:56 is the Lighthouse Resort & Club at the tip of the island

Yeah the first part of the video is not Sanibel. Pretty sure the part with the Chinook helicopter is.

The amount of people I’ve seen blow through intersections with lights not working at full speed has been insane. Luckily, the number of people who did stop and didn’t proceed because they assumed people won’t stop has been higher.

Yesterday, about 15-20 minutes after we passed through an intersection with a broken stoplight on 41 in Venice, someone got t-boned turning left onto Center Road and their car was on its side when we drove back past it. It was a shitshow of people not knowing what to do at those lights.

super windy today in Massachusetts. Neighbor's huge canopy launched out of their backyard, cleared the fence and landed in our backyard. Took an hour for 5 of us that dismantled the whole contraption as the bars were completely bent and the thing was shot.

Yeah. Still sub-tropical…expected to become tropical and possibly a Cat 1 hurricane at landfall. Looks to cross the state, possibly Tampa. Wind and rain.
I’ve seen tropical storms and smaller hurricanes do significant damage though.
