Last time we had a broken wheel problem (ran over a screwdriver that punctured the wheel base) in Pensacola that robbed us of a lot of free time in the area. We'll definitely venture down the coastline more next time.

Pretty much this. They have next to no damage out near Santa Rosa. Even PCB is pretty much fine and nearing back to normal.

This past October my wife and I wanted to go back. I wanted to use some Chase points and there aren't many hotels in that area since it's not very commercial, so we ended up over in Panama City, which I wasn't as thrilled about. But being the offseason there were no college kids, in fact it was pretty quiet overall and we found some really good food and the beach was just as nice; a bit cold that time of year though. Probably wouldn't go that late again.

PCB isn’t really much of a spring break place anymore anyways, so you would be fine almost all year these days. October is normally great though because the tourist families aren’t there either, and that’s what crowds the area now.
Glad you had a good experience and were there before the storm.
