Starting season 3 of Breaking Bad in my rewatch. It's getting really good now with Gus and Saul in the picture. The ending to season 3 was one of my favorite TV moments of all time.

I saw a Pontiac Aztek (in white) driving today. Made me laugh. I'm up to Season 5 in my rewatch and one of last nigh's episodes was when Walt sells his Aztec to the mechanic for $50 after it got repaired again.

This is my favorite time-frame in the series now. The pacing is much better by this point (mid-S4 onward) and the stakes really start to feel high. I loved the first episode of S5 with the magnet to erase Gus's laptop.

season 4 is my favorite. i thought the first half of season 5 got a little too "actually, walt is a superhero now"-ey at times (magnet scene itself is a prime example of this, IMO).

Which, by the way, would not actually work as confirmed by Mythbusters (but was cool nonetheless).

I don't doubt that it wouldn't work, but what was the explanation for why it wouldn't work?

When watching S5 & S6 live I remember thinking they were so intense and being caught up in the grandiose of BB at the time.

In my rewatches, S5 & 6 feel so different from the rest of the series. They feel more polished (production wise) and fake (for lack of better words).

The magnet's depth of field was not big enough to really impact anything further than a few feet away from it.

Last night I went back and was looking at just the first couple episodes of season 1 again, man the entire family intervention scene on Walt's cancer is just perfection start to finish. I know plenty have not always needed to compliment RJ Mitte's acting ability much, but the timing and delivery of just "This is SO STUPID" drop in during that scene, had me rolling.

also now that we have a bit further info on this feature film centering around Jesse post-BB, looking at the ep where he visited his family again, I wonder if they'll have anything to do with the movie. Particularly his little brother, I know I definitely forgot he even had one. and all the slack he takes from his parents about being a druggie, meanwhile the joint they found WAS the kid brother's, and Jesse covers for him.

That's fair. I've got 2 more episodes left in S5 in my rewatch and it definitely is more polished and a little quicker pace. I like it though. It's probably because they knew they only had X number of episodes left and they wanted to tell a certain amount of story arc in that limited time. It probably would have required a season 7 for them to tell the full story arc of Walt with the same feel and pace of the first 4 seasons.

I heard people thought that WW’s behavior in that episode was a betrayal to his character. It actually retroactively ruined my childhood.

Just finished Rabid Dog myself. Season five is just so good. Really looking forward to the "we're family" scene, that's where it all falls apart for Walt. Love it.

Also really looking forward to the movie.

I finished up the series a week and a half ago. Very satisfying. Not as good as the first time watching of course, but it was nice to revisit the series. Holds up very well. Also nice to get refreshed on a lot of details that get referenced in Better Call Saul. I forgot that they make reference to Saul managing a Cinnebon in Omaha at the end of Breaking Bad when both Saul and Walt are being relocated by that fixer.

Agreed, though I really, really hated the "Say my name" scene. It was cringeworthy, IMO.
