6. Maggie Rogers - heard it through the grapevine (I’m just calling it that now)

I think deerhunter is one of the best acts of this era, but was pretty underwhelmed with their sound on the new album. The Maggie Rodgers album is fine, but not really my cup of tea genre wise.

It feels very much like a Vampire Weekend song. A little breezier than some of their previous material, maybe? Especially the singles.

I love the two new VW songs. Harmony Hall is awesome and still has enough of the classic VW sound, especially in that little piano breakdown. 2021 is a nice song and the little duel guitar/thin lizzy sounding tone is cool. The random word throughout the song, what is it, "boy"?? Is a little grating but VW always does short songs with nice melodies well, although it's probably not as good as young lion. Really amped for the album
