We have cable and Netflix.

Netflix has been taking off a lot of shows we like lately, so we've been considering adding Hulu or Amazon Prime (I think I get a student discount from then)

Literally just accessed Hulu for the first time last night after a good friend gave me their password. I like Amazon Prime's original programming a lot. Man in the High Castle is awesome.

I'd go with Prime just for the added benefits (free 2-day shipping from Amazon, etc.) that come with it. Assuming you shop from Amazon on any kind of regular basis, anyway.

We use Netflix almost exclusively. Plus our roku has a streaming app that I'm pretty sure isn't actually legal but whatevs it works for me.

I barely ever cut the TV on anyway.

I'd get Comcast/Xfinity if it were available but we live in the middle of nowhere so Directv or Dish, and since Dish fucking sucks, Directv is our only option at home. As we're also on DSL streaming sucks but we have Netlfix for the kids to download movies on their iPads and such.

We had Sling and switched to Vue. Quality and selection of channels was better.

It's funny you mention sports, we left Sling specifically for the better sports package offered by Vue.

I don't know if it is still this way, but when we left Sling, they had two separate packages that split ESPN and FS1 family of networks. Vue has ESPN, 2, News, & U in addition to FS1 & 2 and NBCSports Network and the B1G network and NBA TV & NFL Network and MLB Network.

We have an antennae but don't use it anymore since we have Direct TV. I highly recommend an antennae for anyone in a decent sized population who has cut cords. We probably had 25 channels over the air. And they were really interesting channels including three PBS channels, several movie channels, and a classic TV channel.

We also have cable (but only because it is bundled with the phone and internet).

We have Direct TV, which we actually watch.

Netflix, which we watch all the time.

And Amazon Prime, which we rarely watch but will use to rent movies. When we had no cable or satellite we would buy current TV show subscriptions and the show would automatically download within 24 hours of airing on cable.

I can't stand commercials or even fast forwarding through them, so this is one of the top reasons I love the Amazon streaming service. After the first segment of an episode, there are just way too many commercial breaks on any of the basic cable series. Well worth getting the season pass for my favorite shows to get around that.
