No sarcasm necessary. I know we (Grey Street Podcast) would be good at it and the fanbase would love what we would bring.

I'm sure someone from here could be competent at it. Maybe you'd be amazing.

I'm also sure the number of people here who could be competent at it is far fewer than the number of people here who think that they would be competent at it.

The "olive branch to the fanbase" is completely insane.

Fair enough. The bold can go for just about anything in life as well it's just a fact

I understand you do not mean a literal branch from an olive tree.

The fact that you mean it as a figure of speech is insane.

I disagree. Knowing where that expression comes from and applying it wherever one sees it being used would take it literally, using it for flavor reasons for vivid of speech is using it as a figure of speech.

The cursor will re-position slightly to the nearest 0-axis crossing point. Split the track there.

It's a small detail, but it irks me when you can hear the track division even when playing a disc that was burned DAO.
All you need is Audacity - to record the show and to split it into tracks.. I just play SiriusXM through my laptop (google chrome browser).. and record it using Audacity.. it saves to a huge WAV file.. i haven't figured out the splitting part yet. but I am guessing that isn't too hard based on what others have posted here.

Command + B, write in song title

You can pretty easily see where songs begin based on the spikes in the sound file.

Ok, they followed with The Best Of What's Around. DMB Radio is forgiven.

I'm really hoping Dave digs a little for the request show. The show is being pre-recorded which would mean he could try as many times as needed to get a song right.

Ari responded to one of my tweets and i laid out what people don't like about dmb radio

    https://twitter.com/concertvids34/st...55598671360002

still may not change anything since management/band decides how little full shows the channel would have access to for various shows. May make a youtube video on this but there are a few simple changes that would make dmb radio better.

    1. Play 2-3 unique ifull live shows a day from all eras
    2. Promote new live traxs by rotating in 1-3 songs from an upcoming live trax (GD radio did this with the meadowlands box set last year)
    3. Within the next year figure out a possible dmb talk radio show (corner of grey street folks on weekly?) this is something that makes GD radio awesome

Great that he responded to you, but personally, I don't think the problem is the lack of full shows. I think it's the lack of variety. They have so many official releases and barely any of the songs from them are played. I think we'd all be perfectly fine hearing one song from LT 13 and then one song from LT 40 and so on (as opposed to a full show). Can only take Cortez The Killer from CP so many times...

I think it's pretty clear that DMB management is handcuffing Sirius...otherwise we'd be hearing songs from every official release.

I hope they leave the Radio City show up on YouTube. At one point the whole show was uploaded but over the years many of the videos have become not viewable in the USA and a few others were deleted. I know at one point LIOG was uploaded and had a ton of views and comments. It's gone now (or at least no longer viewable in the USA).

I know spending the $15.00 to actually buy it will probably break your bank.

You are such an asshole. FYI, I have the release already on blu-ray but it is much easier to pull up a track on YouTube.

2-3 full shows per day is too much. Honestly, even 1 per day may be too much for a DMB channel. I'd be ok with 1 per day, but it won't happen. Bands like Phish and the Dead etc. have SO many more shows that have been "released" or at least SBDs that are available. DMB hasn't done that and doesn't seem like they want to do that. It just doesn't seem like a viable option.

I would certainly love to see them utilize some older/unheard stuff for the Friday Night Concert Series. That would further justify the 1 unique full live show per week and have more people interested in it. IMO

I am not sure what point he is trying to make in his reply those all seem to be in heavy rotation so I have a hard time thinking this should be a signal of great variety.

Honestly every-time I open my app I expect to hear Cortez within 20 min.

It just doesn't seem like a viable option.

I would certainly love to see them utilize some older/unheard stuff for the Friday Night Concert Series. That would further justify the 1 unique full live show per week and have more people interested in it. IMO
Grateful Dead and Pearl Jam do 2-3 shows a day. When you consider a day is 24 hours and a show is 2-3 hours, that's really only 6-9 hours out of the 24.

Ok well, you'd also likely take out 10-12 hours out of the day from midnight to 10 am or from 11pm - 11 am etc. because they likely wont be starting a new show at 10:00 pm EST (unless it's a live stream from the West Coast). So, then they are taking up 6-9 hours of 12-14 hours with a full live show. I'm not sure that's what the average listener of DMB Radio is looking for.

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but unless they open up the SBD vaults and begin playing shows that aren't available anywhere else, include full Dave solo/D&T/D&F shows etc., then there is no chance they could or should play that many full live shows. 1 per week is ok, and 1 per day would be the absolute max I think they'd ever consider doing and would make sense for them to do.

For the sake of the convo, there are certainly things they could do to make the channel more like the others, but overall DMB isn't the GD or Phish, or even PJ for that matter.

yes the difference is that PJ, GD and Phish a much, much, much broader catalog of publicly available SBDs. when you have hundreds of those, as GD/PJ/Phish do, playing 2-3 live shows a day is a matter of throwing a couple darts; you can do that into perpetuity without repeating. when you have mayyybbee a hundred, like DMB, you are very very quickly recycling through those shows.
