Fonz Bombs

So in the midst of what is arguably the greatest tour since 2000, I've been listening to more and more shows lately. I've been paying attention to Fonz. I was just wondering what songs you think Fonz shines on the most. Fonz Bombs, if you will... (And yes, GD fans... I see what I did there...)

Spaceman is blowing my mind.

I love the very beginning when he holds that really low note for a few seconds. Stops, then does it again.

The bass line in the chorus of "The Stone" is phenomenal. Other than that, "Captain" is as awesome of a song as it is because of his bass line (and as always, Carter's doings). "You Never Know" and "So Much To Say" also have quirky, creative bass lines.

Overall, I don't think Stefan is technically a virtuoso bass player, but he is one of the smoothest and tightest players I've ever heard, which is exactly what you need with Carter. Not many bass players would be able to not only keep up, but even excel like he does with that mad man on the drums. Plus, he always knows the perfect bass line to fill out of the vibe or style of a song and take it to the next level. I guess, instead of writing all this I should've just directed you to my member name.

Agreed Rapunzel and The Dreaming Tree came straight to mind after reading that sentence.

And your user name was the first thing I noticed. No worries!

Crush, Dreaming Tree (his best bass work IMO), Sugar Will, Spaceman, Jimi Thing, and many more are owned by Fonz.

Pretty sure OSW on R2T is an edit from a live performance, but there is a studio version of it on the Ardent Sessions: http://www.antsmarching.org/forum/sh...d.php?t=194233

The Dreaming Tree from the Beacon Theater. I've never heard him so well during the jam part. Carter compliments him very well with the bass drum, as well. I haven't listened to the broadcast or to a taper's pull from the Beacon, but in person, it was the best I've ever heard him play.

I've got a vote in for Dreaming Tree, too... when they're jamming out the end, he sounds awesome. Sugar Will is another one of my favorite Fonz songs, also.

I couldn't have said any better. I love his work on So Much To Say, it's often overshadowed, but damn is he playing on that tune.

Rhyme and Reason, Seek Up (not very intricate but powerful), You Never Know, Dreaming Tree, Sweet Up and Down, the verse to Billies, Grey Street chorus is awesome, Crush, Warehouse, Sugar Will, Spaceman, LIOG (when he gets creative), and someone mentioned KKJ from the Gorge Box set, thats a great one.

Fonz may be my favourite member of this band. And no matter what the masses say on this site, Spaceman is a great song.

Even though it's not one of Stefan's bass fills/riffs that is normally prominent, I love the lead bass line in Can't Stop, i'm sure i'll be in the minority on this one.
