its normally a crowd killer, but it was fantastic during the acoustic set years. it would need to be played sparingly and placed well to work during a full band 1 set show, like an occasional E1 spot.

It was a highlight for me at the Charleston show this year. Perfect song for that breezy summer night

I love the Stolen Away on the WH disc where you can hear Dave yell "Yeah!" when the horns come in in the beginning.

Stolen away is in my top 15. It’s a great song. Replace carters robotic drumming on the studio cut with something funky and you have a dmb classic.

I’ll take it at every show.

Fantastic guitar riff and its a song that pretty much still sounds like it did in the early days. It hasn't been ruined like Seek Up has with the horn guys having the high note contest in the intro.

2 unpopular opinions

1. I can't stand Jeff. He overplays all of the time. He's style is too aggressive. Look at him during DDTW and pretty much everything he does. He is going to pop a vein in that bald head of his. Roi was smooth and knew when to bring it and when he did, it was full of passion. Jeff is just loud and often times obnoxious.

2. I love Rashawn...but maybe...just maybe...not every DMB song calls for a trumpet. That's all. Hes awesome. I love the man. But i never thought you know what every single DMB song needs? A trumpet.

Edit: Oh and Tim should play acoustic guitar with the band. DMB doesn't need an electric guitar player full time

Got that weird cluster...are you saying Leave Me Praying is better than DDtW?

If so, 100% agree. LMP had dynamics and space galore...giving it so much more power. The current everything on 11 and played so fast is not nearly as enjoyable. It's become a song I don't want to hear live. Although I would be happy to hear DDtW played like it was on the album though...

Maybe it's the execution. 4:28 and on with studio If Only is absolutely sublime for me. Angel doesn't really have that. If Only also has more of a pining feel to it, lyrically, and Angel is just cheesy. Just my opinion

Belly Belly Nice and Drive In Drive Out are top 5 songs for me, which I didn't realize until I sat down and finally made my rankings (work is slooow in January). I wouldn't be surprised if DIDO unseated Rapunzel someday as my all-time favorite. Dear god, everyone is firing on all cylinders on that track.

My thoughts are the complete opposite of yours. I would be perfectly ok, in fact I would be happy, if RR never played another show with the band.

#2 has been really annoying me lately. Idk if it’s the mixing of Sirius streams, the EQ of my music app, or a combo of all of it, but the most prominent sound in so much of what I’ve been listening to is the goddamn squeaking trumpet over everything. Jeff gets a sax solo? Can’t hear it because Rashawn is playing at the same time and much louder. The trumpet has its place in some stuff, but it’s WAY too prominent these days and needs to tone down. Everything the horns do sounds like it’s coming in through a funnel and it doesn’t sound good.

I’d honestly rather have Tim turned up and the horns turned down at this point. It’s just getting too grating to the ears. At least to my ears, it sounds like the mix turned down Tim Carter and Stefan, turned up Rashawn and Buddy, and left Jeff and Dave at the same level.

Thinking of that one video of Dave talking about Rashawn and everything he’s done, as well as bringing in Buddy, coupled with his insecure Insta posts and how prominent the trumpet is on everything kinda made me think this band is more the Rashawn Ross Band than the Dave Matthews Band.
