Re: ***Official Deer Creek 2022***

I used to always do uber/lyft/rideshare but it is such a hassle at almost any venue, it's simply not worth it. Too many people, too few cars, and prices for a ride $100-$200 until it calms down an hour or longer after the show. I stayed in Albany when I went to SPAC and the Uber situation was $200-$300 after the show. Split it with a few people but still expensive. Same situation at DC, etc.

So worth it to just rent a car.

I’ve tried ride share 1-2 times from the creek. It sucks. You could go to the mall area and hang at a bar for a while probably but meh. Staying downtown wouldn’t be terrible but traffic on that Friday would be for sure. I’d suggest looking Noblesville, fishers, Carmel for a place to stay
Cool stuff in the downtown Carmel area. A few breweries/distilleries, good food places. 116th and 69 area has a lot of dining and top golf

Currently just thinking downtown Indy and then take an Uber to the venue, but not sure if that's a bad idea.
If looking for hotel, look up this one and area around it. I haven’t looked recently as far as how booked up everything is. But I’m betting you could find luck in this area or at this location. It’s off the beaten track to DC but it is not that far out. A lot of people going to the shown live all around that area. These hotels were built to host visitors for the new colts camp as well as the massive new westfield athletic facilities. I prob would not do downtown unless you want a good bar/restaurant scene. My recommendation is solely based on travel convenience and potential availability.

Looking for recommendations on great places for breakfast/lunch in the area. When we came up for the first time last year, we just stuck to chain restaurants we were familiar with. I believe my AirBnB is about a mile from the downtown Noblesville square. The description says we are in "old Town" Noblesville.

    Rosie’s place is delicious.
Patachou has a few locations on the north side of Indy and it’s kinda an Indy staple breakfast place

I've got a buddy considering making the trip who is looking at lawn for the weekend. I've never done it before and couldn't find anything on the website through livenation. Does the lawn allow the lowered little chairs or is it blanket/tarp only?

    Re: ***Official Deer Creek 2022***

All righty, Creek. This may not be the chattiest spot anymore, but I'm still gonna do my annual VENUE STATS post for the 2022 tour whenever I remember in here.

Long story short - venue year to year stats interest me more and showcase the band is actually more varied/diverse than we give them credit as people tend to only focus on show to show on a tour. Majority of a venue probably lives there an only does the home show anyway. How did DMB change it up for them since the last time they saw them?

They haven't played Austin enough or frequently enough, so I'm gonna start with...

    Venue Stats: Woodlands

Never Played Before: Break For It, Madman's Eyes, Break Free, Walk Around the Moon, The Maker

2 Liberations (Almanac rules): Idea of You, The Dreaming Tree

11 Tour Debuts: You Might Die Trying, So Much To Say, Anyone Seen the Bridge, Too Much, Tripping Billies, Jimi Thing, Crash Into Me, When the World Ends, She, Granny, The Maker

10 Songs Played Last time at Woodlands (2019): Anyone Seen the Bridge, Crash Into Me, Dancing Nancies, Funny the Way It Is, She, So Much To Say, Too Much, Warehouse, Why I Am, You Might Die Trying

    1st since 2006 - Idea of You

    1st since 2007 - The Dreaming Tree

    1st since 2014 - Tripping Billies

1st since 2016 - Granny, Jimi Thing, When the World Ends

1st You Might Die Trying opener
3rd Grey Street set closer (last 2009)
1st Why I Am show closer

2nd ever: Idea of You, Dreaming Tree, She
    3rd ever: Why I Am

While I thought it was sort of a blah set unfolding Saturday night, they actually put together a really good one for Dallas. This is why I think these stats are more interesting and paint a better picture of what the band does and can do. 4 of the 5 repeats from 2019 are songs many would take at every show. And that Seek Up stat is an eye opener.

    Venue Stats: Dallas

Never Played Before: The Only Thing, Madman's Eyes

9 Tour Debuts: Best of What's Around, Do You Remember, Seek Up, Song That Jane Likes, Seven, #41, #27, Can't Stop, All Along the Watchtower

5 Songs Played Last time at Dallas (2019): #41, Do You Remember, Don't Drink the Water, Grace is Gone, Grey Street

    1st since 2007 - Seek Up

    1st since 2010 - Can't Stop (1st time w the Come Tomorrow version)

    1st since 2014 - #27, All Along the Watchtower

    1st since 2015 - Seven

    1st since 2016 - Satellite, You & Me

2nd Best of What's Around opener (last 2007)
1st Don't Drink the Water set closer
7th Watchtower show closer (last 2014)

    2nd ever: #27, Can't Stop
3rd ever: Do You Remember, Seven

Gonna try one for last night's show. Not much to pull from but lets have fun

Venue Stats: DMB in Mississippi (I've only found 6 full band shows in MS; 2 in 1994, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2022)

8 Never Played Before: Grace Is Gone, Break For It, Tripping Billies, Old Dirt Hill, Madman's Eyes, Walk Around the Moon, Break Free, Funny the Way It Is

1 Liberation (almanac rules): Old Dirt Hill - 1st ever liberation in Mississippi

    1 Tour Debut: Two Step

6 Songs Played Last time in Mississippi (2018): Warehouse, Grey Street, Crush, Don't Drink the Water, You & Me, Why I Am

1st since 2013 - Jimi Thing, When the World Ends, What Would You Say, The Space Between

1st since 2015 - Seek Up, Two Step

    3rd Seek Up opener (last 1994 - 10/19 show)
2nd Two Step set closer (last 1994 - 3/30 show)
1st Why I Am show closer

2nd ever: When the World Ends, The Space Between, Why I Am
3rd ever: What Would You Say, Don't Drink the Water, You & Me, Two Step

These stats help keep perspective. Until a two night stand happens, it's hard for me to visualize what a Creekend set could possibly look like.

Also, I was watching the FTT with the outro the other day, how has 10 years passed since that show. Its crazy.

They currently have a bare minimum amount of songs they are playing to fill a no-repeats 2 night stand right now.

I'm wondering if the idea this summer is to slow roll and evolve the song catalog as the tour runs its course. There's obviously been some attention paid to the actual performance aspect of the songs this summer as well. Some really noticeable improvements and changes so far.
