Just started reading Civil War on the Marvel Unlimited app and instantly decided I don't like the Fantastic Four. Hopefully they get better as the event continues, but the first two Fantastic Four books included in the storyline were not of any interest to me. Everythign else has been great.

What does everyone think of Agent Carter so far? I think it's a pretty good show and a nice thing to keep us occupied until Shield comes back.

Nice! I was going to post in here this week to check and make sure this was still on. However, once I watch one it will be tough to not keep watching more. My wife is going out of town the first week of March, and it will be tough for me not to try and watch all of them in one weekend.

Really liking it. Like a lot of the Marvel movies, I went in with zero expectations (the first half of the movies that is. Now my expectations are a lot higher with such quality products so far). I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I'm enjoying it. I wasn't too excited as I didn't think there'd be much of a story there, but it's playing out nicely I'd say. This universe is so vast and Marvel is just pulling it all together so well.

Over the weekend I've read The Thanos Quest & half of The Infinity Gauntlet series. Hoping to finish Gauntlet and get into Infinity Wars before next weekend. Really cool storyline. I'm curious how much of Quest & Gauntlet make the big screen seeing how they're the events that lead to the Infinity Wars.

I'm pretty much just watching it for continuity reasons so far... it's not poorly done exactly, but the cons outweigh the pros (for me). Pumped for Shield to come back though.

I think it's slightly more than that; basically Marvel is trying to monopolize the market, so they need to drive Fox out (which shouldn't be hard, Fox doesn't know what the hell they're doing). Thus cancelling Fantastic Four, thus the frantic pace of movie releases (so there's no breathing room for competition), etc.

Not to be a dick, but is that a representative sample of anything? It's been a while since I've read any Marvel title but that's not how I remember it.

I really enjoy Agent Carter, I hope it's back for a second season. More excited about the return of Shield, but I think Carter has had a stronger start.

I have no problem with Marvel going that route at some point, but I don't like the idea of introducing him in the Civil War storyline if that is in fact the plan. Peter Parker is such an integral part of that event. Even if the screen adaptation doesn't completely follow the comics, a known quantity like Peter Parker is the best alternative.

Original press release said Peter Parker.

Though they could just Johnny Storm it and cast a black actor. I'm guessing that's more likely.

Not to mention Peter Parker doesn't require an origin story. People know who he is and what he's about. Any non-Parker Spider would require a whole origin story.

If you really want Miles the best way would probably be 1) Introduce Parker in Civil War 2) Explain where he's been all this time 3) 2017 film Peter dies early and in comes Miles.

Yeah I was just sharing the rumor
    http://comicbook.com/2015/02/21/rumo...e-peter-parke/

But it makes sense being Peter Parker - that way they wouldn't have to reboot it or do an origin story

That's the "known quantity" point I referenced. It's wasteful and distracting to introduce someone the general audience has no familiarity with. Too much screen time would have to be used retconning/introducing his origins.

World wide sales have saved it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-...ce_performance

So because of that it's pretty profitable, but each one has made less than the previous and the budgets have gone up. I can't believe Spider-Man 3 made the most money when that movie was complete garbage. Amazing 2's box office ranking in North America is hilarious.

Nice. I tried to watch it all before the Oscars started and had a few interruptions. Just as the fight with Obidiah was heating up she started pushing to watch the Red Carpet interviews, so I popped the DVD into her laptop and watched the last 15 minutes that way HAHA.

I haven't seen Iron Man in a while. That is just a great movie, and it really just set the whole MCU up perfectly. Just a lot of fun to watch. Really looking forward to continuing watching each week.

Yup watched Iron Man last night, it's funny how simple everything used to be. I don't think I had seen Iron Man in about five years and totally forgot Agent Coulson made his first appearance in it.

That's a great way to describe it, simple. I was thinking the same thing when Coulson showed up. I just caught up with SHIELD the day before so I'm so used to seeing him all the time. It was funny to see him as a newbie.

It's neat to look back before the universe expanded so much. I remember not even wanting to see Iron Man because of the preview. I thought the line "Yeah, I can fly" was wicked cheesy in the preview and quite frankly I knew nothing about Iron Man or Marvel Comics. Things sure have changed. Now I can't get enough, and I even downloaded the Marvel Unlimited app. Looking forward to continuing the next 9 weeks of movie watching!

I am comparing watching these movies as the same as just watching a weekly television show.

Coulson has been in more of the MCU than any other character, probably one of my top two characters. Also the end credit scene after Iron Man may be one of my absolute favorites of the whole MCU. I was so confused when I saw it for the first time, here you have Samuel L. Jackson just making a cameo on what at the time I thought was just a standalone franchise. Was just so mysterious at the time.

I completely forgot about the original Iron Man "after credits" scene! I don't even think I stuck around to see it in the theater. When I finally did see it I had no clue what it was all about.

Nice and simple ending to Agent Carter, about what I expected. Ready to get to present MCU time with Shield and lead into Avengers! I hope we get some Ultron easter eggs of some sort.
