Re: Official Phish Discussion

Finally get to see the band again tomorrow after waiting 6 years. I'll be happy with whatever they play but really hoping for Slave and/or Theme.

Last night looks bananas!

I should repharse, I have listened to a lot of pre-97 Phish (lots of 94 especially), but for the last several years I have been neglecting the older stuff and that’s bad on me. haha

Wife and I bought the CID package for Merriweather this coming weekend. Will be my first Phish in 3 years. Last show we saw at Merriweather was:

    PHISH, SUNDAY 07/27/2014
    MERRIWEATHER POST PAVILION
    Columbia, MD

SET 1: Fee, The Curtain With, 46 Days, 555, My Sweet One, Sand, Bouncing Around the Room, Saw It Again > Fuego, You Enjoy Myself

SET 2: Wilson > Tweezer -> Back on the Train -> Tweezer -> Back on the Train -> Tweezer > Waiting All Night, Free -> Tweezer -> Simple -> Tweezer -> Free > Catapult > Slave to the Traffic Light -> Down with Disease -> NICU -> Jam -> Hold Your Head Up -> Jennifer Dances -> Hold Your Head Up, I Been Around

ENCORE: Boogie On Reggae Woman > Tweezer Reprise

Not sure what they can do this weekend to live up to that, but excited to find out!

Yeah that show was ridiculous. Don’t hold them to that expectation that’s a once in a lifetime type show!

Enjoy! CID package def the way to go, especially when it gets you things you otherwise couldn’t get (MPP pavs and a room at the hotel that’s within walking distance, double win in this case!)

Enjoy it! That’s way too long to go Phish-less. You live in a great city (assuming you live in Toronto) but the frequency of quality jam bands passing through does seem limited.

When we were planning out our summer tour dates we actually considered every show scheduled this week, but ultimately decided on Mohegan plus Dicks, a decision I was happy with. But then I figured what the hell and tried to get Charlottes on public onsale day and got really lucky and scored Pits. Once i scored Pits I couldn’t then not go to the sho. So i was able to sneak in adding that show as well, extra show extra win!

Show looked awesome last night. Can’t wait to re-listen today. Ready for some east coast couch tour. I can’t hang with these late shows.

I am so tired, but damn if it wasn't worth it. Re-listening to that Twist now, signed up for the LivePhish+, well, the trial at least. We'll see if I keep it.

I definitely think it’s worth it. Love having all that Phish at my disposal.

CID package was definitely worth it. Got pit tickets and the hotel so close. That was actually my wife's first Phish show and she has definitely been a little underwhelmed each time since (although still has a blast).

Never been a huge Phish music guy but have always appreciated the band’s creativity and loyal following. Watching the Bonnaroo set the other day may have been a turning point in my fandom. Really enjoyed their set and am looking to explore the catalog further but don’t really know where to start. I’ve listened to a few shows here and there on Spotify, but recommendations would be welcomed and appreciated!

I started with their albums. Which is kind of the opposite of what a lot of people will suggest.

Billy Breathes is what got me hooked. However, if that Bonaroo set is what got you hooked. Then maybe some recent shows from last year might be something up your alley.

Phish: Riviera Maya February 20-23, 2020

This year’s event will see Phish performing an additional welcome set on Thursday night and a special early evening start time on Sunday in one of the world’s most beautiful locations — Mexico’s Caribbean coastline.

Phish: Riviera Maya will be hosted at a new location, Moon Palace, where for the first time, all guests will be able to stay at one resort complex. We’re excited for you all to try out the upgraded food, rooms, and other on-site amenities at the Moon Palace.

Phish: Riviera Maya will go on sale to the public on Thursday, June 26th at 1 PM ET at http://www.phishrivieramaya.com. Previous Phish: Riviera Maya purchasers and guests will be invited to a limited pre-sale with the ability to purchase an all-inclusive package during the Alumni Pre-Sale Wednesday, June 25th at 1 PM ET via a code which will be emailed to them 24 hours before the pre-sale begins.

Never been a huge Phish music guy but have always appreciated the band’s creativity and loyal following. Watching the Bonnaroo set the other day may have been a turning point in my fandom. Really enjoyed their set and am looking to explore the catalog further but don’t really know where to start. I’ve listened to a few shows here and there on Spotify, but recommendations would be welcomed and appreciated!
    welcome. it's a fun ride.

just start poking around on spotify, there are so many shows on there.

a live one is good (as someone said - that got me). i think live is better than studio (if you can digest live, which it sounds like you can).

bakers dozen - more recent, not a full show, just random songs
10/26/10 - i've always liked this one, no wild jams, just good stuff
10/30/10 - if you like zeppelin, this is fun
live in brooklyn - odd time for them, but moma/free is 10/10 phish
    7/6/98, 12/7/97, 11/17/97 - personal favs

Phish will return to Mexico for its fourth Phish: Riviera Maya, an all-inclusive concert vacation experience that will take place February 20-23.

    F. Still 5 hours until show time. As Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part.
