Initially, they showed the film in select theaters for one night only, but I remember seeing it mentioned that they were going to do a second night of showings as well.

    Looked it up: http://www.avettbrothersfilm.com

Def recommend catching it if y'all are able.

Posted this in the Delores O'Riordan thread, not sure how many people say it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3v7ZGreCO0

Also highly recommend 'May It Last' - gave some good history of the band

Saw my first Avett Bros show on Saturday @ Wolf Trap. They were amazing. Vocal harmonies are one of my favorite things in music and generally missing from DMB. The Avetts have them in spades and kill them.

They keep things tight...almost no silent moments on stage. Transitions of instruments are smooth as glass. They give everything on stage. I’ll be seeing them many more times. The wife insists on DMB, I’m focused on the Avetts, and we’ll need to sprinkle in other bands as we’re able (and we’ll have to be able...). We can get the snake back in the can after this summer.

    Welcome to the club.

They are so good and so tight live. There aren't many other bands I'd rather see live.

Right now, there aren't any I'd want to see over them...maybe some equal, but certainly no one more than.

I've been a big fan 10 years and have yet to hear a song I actively hate or and album that I enjoy less that 75% of. Actually, I usually throw on albums by all artists that I like and listen all the way though. I don't skip any of their songs. They are master songwriters and performers. I'm partially mad at myself for not getting around to seeing them sooner. Lesson learned as I will be going to MANY more shows.

It was great how little time they wasted not playing music. I wish I could get a pair for Friday and Saturday Oct 26 & 27...would love to see them in a smaller venue. We're trying to work out whether or not we can do December 30 & 31 in Charlotte.

Right now they are my "favorite" band. This rarely lasts more than a few months at a time for most bands, but it's always rotating. They have been on my permanent list of favorite bands for several years though...

They are as sublimely unique as DMB to me, albeit with a completely different sound, vibe, and feel. It's like folk and bluegrass meets Neil Young meets the Band meets grunge and punk on old time instrumentation yet expanding beyond that when ever they see fit.

The varying configurations they use on stage from full band, down to the original trio, to a solo Scott or Seth, to the the core four, and every other available permutation is very cool. Whatever best serves the music.

Masters is what they are...and still growing.

I’m starting to really get into them and I think I’m gonna get a ticket for the end of the year at both shows in Charlotte!

Finally got around to watching the documentary. It was fantastic, and I didn't know it was possible, but I love the band even more after watching it.

Samesies - No Hard Feelings just might have usurped Fix You as my favorite song.

It was amazing to see them record that song, and the emotional toll it took on them.

I agree - this is the best current band. Going to see them in Houston in March, and probably hit at least one the New Braunsfel shows in May.

Amazing song lyric... I put it on a wooden plaque I had made for Sheena for Mother's Day one year w/ our birthdays/anniversary. It goes like this, the text/dates are carved and painted colors and the wood is distressed. I ordered it on Etsy.

    Me

    birthday

    You

    birthday

    Us

    anniversary

    Them

    birthday

I thought RR is an all GA venue? I'm still waiting on the right band for me to make the trip out there. Avett Brothers would be a good choice. Have fun.

All wood bleachers attached to the the stone steps/rows with assigned "seat" numbers marking your spot on the bleachers. Shows can be all reserve seating, all GA, half/half, etc. Nice thing is, each row is relatively deep, so you can have your partner stand in front of you taking up a single "seat" if you end up with one great reserve seat and one not so great. Not quite as bad as stubbing someone down in your row as you are still just taking up the space of one seat number.

Seeing them next summer. Been listening to their stuff to try to get familiar.
