Is 9.4.16 really Boyd's last show?

Full show yes. He played in 2017 in the special Cville benefit show.

Threw together a (very) quick album cover for Wednesday's show if anybody wants it. I'll probably keep it up throughout the series as long as somebody else is doing the hard work and ripping the audio.

As much as I would love older shows, I feel like the majority will be 2018 to present performances. If that's the case i wouldn't mind this set.

Really dig the new feel of Beach Ball.

Yes please! This show was such an amazing listen, especially for this current lineup. Dave's voice on point. Crowd is super engaged and it really makes a huge difference energy wise

So the T-shirt/hoodie/blanket aren't show specific, just for this series in general, but will they release a new poster for every show, just changing the text on it or create a whole new poster?

I've been using the covers that Jon Miller has been making for all shows in recent years. Love how they complement Live Trax releases:

He definitely does a great job, but I don't want something that will blend in with live trax. I like that different series of releases can be picked out at a glance

Speaking of that CVille show, did a rip of it ever go up on Dreamingtree?

Also nobody cares but I was at that Gorge 2016 show then also the Minneapolis 2018 show without Boyd. Didn't even realize I hit the "last" and first.

    Same!

I was also at Rashawn's first show as a full time touring member of the band, and I was at the Staples Center show the day Roi died. Being there for these kind of things makes me feel closer to the band for sure.

But yeah you're right nobody cares haha.

27, 34, 41 all at the same show! John Mayer killed it. Exodus, Shotgun! Maybe one of the best from 2007.

the N2 Hollywood Bowl show is actually my join date for ants. I LOVE that show. Damien Marley on Exodus is so good. I wish they would have done that show as a DVD instead of Piedmont Park.

Re: Dave Matthews Band "Drive-In" - Every Wednesday At 8!

I LOVED Wednesday's webcast. We watched it 'live', without looking at the setlist; it was wonderful to be completely surprised by every song.

Overall was very pleased with the show. Highlights for me (in temporal order):
    • the energy / crowd reaction to Buddy's solo on Bayou
    • Fool To Think (!!)
    • Water For Wine (!!!!!!)
    • No classic rock-leaning covers (Sledgehammer, Money, etc)
    • No long meandering slow jams (eg - the end of Mercy)

I'd like to continue hearing 2018 and 2019 shows for the next few. I had the same thought about Vegas: +1 about that. It'd be great to get a show that I've been to (including that Alpine 06 monster) but I find it even more fulfilling to get a show that I know nothing about, so the setlist can be a surprise. Maybe something from late 2019 next?

The biggest opportunity for improvement from 6.29 for me was the mix: I found it washy / indistinct in some places, especially at the end of Minarets and throughout all of Samurai Cop. Of course, I know they're mixing these super quickly; I certainly couldn't do a better job.

Overall, I'm just SO excited that they're doing this. It gives us something wonderful to look forward to every week -- and I can't wait to see where they take it!

Hope everyone is doing well out there today.❤️

I'd love either of those. I'm curious of both the band's depth of video recorded shows as well as their willingness to broadcast old shows with Boyd and not their current lineup. Maybe we'll get some audio releases of older shows and the video will be for 18-present? Just spitballing.

We'll see. People who are "in the know" seem to think these Drive-In videos will go further back than 18.

I wouldn't expect any older audio unless it's an official release/live trax. That second show I linked was from the day Busted Stuff was released. Would be a cool companion to a 20 year anniversary release in a couple years if it doesn't make it into this Drive-In series.

Will be interesting to see if Everyday or Busted Stuff get any love on their 20s.

That's what I'm doing as well. Watching it live without looking at the setlist, so it keeps it fresh and surprising.
