Do you think there will be a Fall tour?

Do you guys think there will be an additional fall tour like they have done in the past (most recently 2010)? Lots of indoor venues from what I remember, but the ones I was at were well attended. just an idea.. i hope so. I hope they add a fall Cville date since ill be in college in virginia (william and mary - which is only 2 hours away)...

thats what i was thinking because theres a month break in august and the tour ends in the beginning of september. it would be nice to visit msg again.

it would not surprise me. if the album is really as far along as it appears to be, it should be out in a few months. they'll want to promote it as much as possible, which would mean another tour. i think it could be another (although smaller) nationwide tour, which would fill in some of the gaps that the summer tour has, like only 3 california dates.

That's what I was thinking too. Too many big markets were not hit for an album tour (especially areas that have become regular stops): Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Phoenix - they could do an entire fall tour and miss the entire East Coast. (Not likely.)

the last 3 times there was a spring or fall tour to go along with a summer tour were 05, 09, and 10. each year had a total # of shows in the low 60s between the summer and spring/fall tours. this summer has 41 shows, the shortest summer tour since the abbreviated 07 tour (dave's son's birth).

following the trend of 62-ish shows total if there was a second tour, that would mean a fall tour this year would be ~20 shows. that amount of shows could result in a tour such as:

boston x2
NYC x2
buffalo
philadelphia
charlottesville x2
raleigh
atlanta
pittsburgh
chicago
omaha
oklahoma city
denver
las vegas x2
los angeles x2
sacramento


20 shows and it hits all the major areas in the country. that wouldn't be a bad little support tour for the fall, then 2013 be a summer tour heavy on the "new" album. but we need to get through at least half of the summer first before we go worrying about a fall tour

Simply put, this summer tour is too short for there not to be dates in the Fall. The album should come out in August and we should get ourselves a kick-ass arena tour.

Thanks for thinking that Sacramento has a remote chance of getting a fall date. If it's indoors, I'm guessing it's going to NOT be in Sacramento. Arco Arena (or Powerbalance Pavilion) is NOT a good concert venue... There's a reason they called it "Echo Arena" for a long time.

In the old music marketing world (discs), it made sense to put an album out closer to the holiday season. (Things sell better then.) In the new era, I'm not so certain.

This is a terrible example and you can all shake your heads in disgust, but Slash was recording his new album at the exact same time DMB was (follow him on Twitter) and today he announced a May release date. So the turnaround time could be quick. But I don't suspect it would be.

living in PA, i know nothing about sacramento's venues, nor do i care. it was just the first city in the northern half of the state that i could think of that has an arena that could host a concert. it was used as an example.

no doubt there will be a fall tour. 20 shows sounds about right. Also, not to start a rumor, Lollapalooza is the first week of August. The acts are revealed in early April. No chicago show yet. They could do that. But it is a long shot.

This. The Summer tour is too short for there to not be more shows this year. It's not impossible that there could be a Fall/Winter European tour. That being said, I would love to see a Fall Tour similar to 2010. Heck, even a tour identical to Fall 2010 wouldn't bother me, but thats my East Coast bias talking
