Her fall from grace is one of the most shocking things I've ever seen. I think she got too caught up in petty personal drama and that was a big turnoff to people.

Also it doesn't help that she lost Dr. Luke as a collaborator.

I only ever saw her live at warped tour lol. She has an amazing voice even on those small stages in the middle of a 95 degree day

Her rise was meteoric but yea that fall off without any “major” type scandal was crazy.

At least she has American idol.

When I saw Katy Perry in 2018 she had barely half the arena sold. Friday night too. She spoke at one point about it being one of the hardest years of her life. Not saying she can't have personal issues but I kinda thought it was out of touch. Like you're a millionaire with the life everyone dreams of having.

But she was more of a flash in the pan than anything. The longer it gets out it's kinda wild her success lasted as long as it did. Without a major smash album I doubt she could even lead an arena tour at this stage in her career.

Yea she was a singles artist. Just put out hit after hit that were primed for radio/clubs. Ariana is sort of like that now.

Adele/Taylor are album artist where the GP and fan base consume the entire album and not just what’s on the radio. Mariah was the same way.

I guess I hadn’t really thought about it but yeah, Katy did fall off kinda. Teenage Dream was damn near Thriller level with how many blockbuster singles it produced. Super Bowl Halftime Show was her last big hurrah. I think it was the fact that she waited so long between Prism and Witness. Witness was god awful.
