Yep, it is awesome for all ages. My daughter (10) is super excited about NatGeo, Beefy Jr. (12) is excited for the Marvel stuff and already started watching the first Thor this morning.

Yes, but it took forever for me to find it. Credit to Reddit:

What you're going to want to do is access the App Store. When it loads, scroll down to "Group Content" (you should see a colorful box that starts with Music and Radio), scroll right through subcategories until you hit a selection that says "Content Previews". Select that and the first app available for download should be Disney+.

Also. Something else mildly controversial I've seen while looking at threads to see if this was going to be available at launch was that the Samsung TV apps don't support 4K or HDR. To my knowledge. It does. The detail section within the app shows that the programming has 4K Ultra HD and HDR-10 support. I did a Toy Story test run and along with everything looking as clear and vibrant as it should. When I checked my home menu. The settings did show that HDR was in play.

    Happy streaming, folks.

Also, one thing I am noticing as I dive in is quite a bit of stuff doesn't have a play button. For example, Star Wars 4+ is available but 1-3 isn't. Could be a glitch or a browser/tv issue.

Also, some stuff that isn't available says when it will be available. Just interesting the star wars prequels don't show that for me.

I've noticed a few glitchy things from the app on my phone, but I think they'll get it worked out throughout the day.

I got the bundle. Haven't tried the actual app yet, but does anyone know how to get access to the ESPN+ articles? I seem to have no problem with the video aspect of ESPN+ but its still locking me out of the articles. Was this not part of the deal or is it just something I need to be patient with?

    This.

Really looking forward to how this impacts the streaming market int he next 3, 6, 12+ months.

Does anyone know the legal/technical side of content rights? I assume everything that Disney currently has on other services will eventually expire and only be available on D+?

I think Disney owned content definitely will removed from other services as soon a their contracts are up.

Considering every content creator (NBC, CBS, HBO etc etc etc) already have or are planning on releasing their own streaming platform it's hard to think differently.

Netflix will end up being original content only, and all the cord cutters out there will end up having 5+ subs and pay just as much as they would for traditional cable offerings.

My wife texted me. She put Fantasia on for him while she did house work. Clutch.

If you are smart about it, you can pay for one or two at a time, depending on what you are watching at the moment. It's more effort, but can be better. Hell of a lot easier to cancel these subscriptions than dealing with the cable companies. I refuse to give Spectrum any more money than I have to, just on principle.

Also look at why you want a certain app. I bought the entire series of the Office in iTunes for $30 a few months back and the entire series of Friends for $60. Combined, that is less than a year of Netflix. Now I dont need the NBC app or HBO for either of those series.

I haven't been able to access anything since signing up for the bundle this morning. Disney issued a statement on the issue:

see I don't think so. netflix is just too big & too engrained in the world already for them to go down. even if they're stripped down to just original content, they'll still do numbers for the sheer amount of stuff they release.

I do think the landscape changes greatly in the next 3-5 years though. there's just no way for all these streaming services to remain sustainable.

feels like we're in a cycle where it went cable > cord cutting > pay more for streaming then you did cable > back to some future form of cable - I could see a future where Apple/Disney merge, and AppleTV is the future cable box where you can just easily access all your content from there.

bob iger has already said he wonders if their companies would have merged already if steve jobs was still alive.

Only spent a little time on this but first impressions are I'm blown away. This is far and away the best value for money streaming service in my opinion. I don't think it will cause anyone to cancel Netflix but it's going to reshape what Netflix is going to look like for sure.

Watching Return of the Jedi never looked so good. All the original Disney movies from the 60s and 70s that I grew up on as a kid. It all hits me in the nostalgia feels!

    Re: Disney+ (Discussion & Recommendations)

I've found Netflix's original content to be mostly bad. I'm probably going to cancel and sign up for like a month each year to binge each Stranger Things season as its released.

I’m not saying Netflix will go the way of Blockbuster but their business is in serious trouble.

Netflix is going to take a hit, for sure. But I think if they're smart (and I believe their executive team is pretty smart) they'll begin to position themselves as a direct competitor to an HBO, as a content creator, rather than purely a streaming platform.

If Disney+ had launched, say 4 years ago - I'd be worried for Netflix. But they saw some of this coming and have invested tons into original programming and content, and I think that will serve them well in the near-to-mid term.
