He’s not a maverick either. He’s an incredibly flawed man, who clearly saw the right things to do as a politician but was willing to go against what I think he clearly saw as the right things to do for political gain.

He wasn’t a leader, he has no backbone, and just found himself answering to a party with whom deep down he didn’t agree yet went along with for his entire career.

Don't forget, Trump was pushing Luther Strange BIG TIME in Alabama in the primaries. He said some of these same things - to vote for Strange because Moore couldn't win.

And then of course he went all-in on Moore for the general. I assume that if Blankenship were to win, Trump would do the same.
