Re: Boxing fans?

I've heard some die hard Cotto fans say they thought he outscored Canelo, but compubox would disagree. Freddie said he thought Cotto won, but I assume he's just covering for his guy. GGG Alvarez better happen sooner than later. April -May 2016?

Alvarez is fighting Cinco De Mayo next year, and again in September.

It makes too much sense to have them fight. I think if we don't get it in May it will most definitely happen in September assuming neither of them lose

    They are fucking wrong.

It was a closer fight than the judges scoring, but Canelo won by at least three rounds.

Canelo v GGG would be great.

GGG seems to have his heart set on avoiding fighting Ward though (which would also rule) that it does kinda make me wonder about him.

I thought Canelo won 8 of 12 rounds and that's probably being generous to Cotto

I had it 116-113 ..which I think was very generous to Cotto

Really hope Ward can start to fight some significant opponents now that he's moving up in weight

    Tyson Fury is contemplating retirement.

He is also contemplating a rematch with Wladimir on a yacht in Qatar. $120mm split between the two. Non-televised. Insane.

Serioulsy doubt he retires...if he beats Wladimir again then he could have the biggest payday in Heavyweight boxing since Tyson Lewis when he faces off with Wilder

anyone think Amir Khan can last 6 rounds with Canelo?

He says he wants to quit because he doesn't want to only do it for the money. IMO, he's scared of Wladimir.

He certainly can, I still think Canelo wins handily though. I hope so, because Canelo v GGG has Fight of the Decade potential.

ugh so the GGG/Canelo fight probably won't happen until Nov/Dec or early next year, right?

I think Kahn can give Canelo a good fight.

Canelo fights twice a year now.

The good news is the GGG/Canelo fight will probably happen in LA. I've heard rumors of Dodger Stadium if they do it in late November/Early December. But they've each had fights lined up for months. Both of them tune-up fights, but Kahn being a far greater opponent than Dominic Wade.

I think they are setting up Canelo v GGG for the Fall.... GGG had the mandatory defense, and Canelo gets the high paying "tune up" with Khan..

Amir is going to have to rely heavily on speed..if he gets caught in front of Canelo itll be lights out. Khan doesnt have the chin to last 12 with Alvarez.

I actually believe Canelo would beat GGG even at 160.. I seriously hope that fight happens in 2016 while both fighters are at the top. Would be great for the sport

Andre Ward v Sergey Kovalev in September ---- 2 of the top P4P fighters in the world (Ward is #1 IMO)
Canelo Alvarez v Gennady Golovkin (GGG) ---- 2 of the top P4P fighters in the world (Canelo is #3 IMO) and the biggest possible fight that can be made in boxing right now

Don't think there are many boxing fans lurking around here, but these fights should be huge for the sport! Wont do the same numbers as Mayweather v Pacquiao but they will both be 100x more entertaining..especially for the casual fight fans

Canelo v GGG isn't happening until September of 2017.

Also, Canelo is #1 in my eyes. Ward is weird, and GGG doesn't fight anyone.

Rumors are saying it could be between February - May of 2017 which would make sense since Canelo has made it a routine to fight on Cinco De Mayo weekend.

Thers no doubt Canelo is the biggest draw in the sport and my favorite fighter to watch right now right now.. P4P though Idk if id have him up there with Ward or Chocolatito Gonzalez just yet despite having the best resume in the sport.

Quick fighters have given him problems (Lara, Khan for 4 rounds).. He will probably be the betting underdog vs GGG

The Broner/Granados fight last night was great. I thought the rounds were close but I had it 96-94 Broner.

    2 weeks from Thurman/Garcia

Fuck Ward, by the way. Kovalev beat him, soundly. Now he's considering retiring because even HE knows he lost.

Also, it looks like Canelo v GGG won't happen anymore.

My brother was at the fight and he had it 9-3, I had it 8-4. It screamed "let's give it to the more marketable fighter!" Jokes on them, Ward looks like he's going to retire now.

    Re: Boxing fans?

Fight of the year so far. Sor Rungvisai and roman chocolatito Gonzalez. I had Gonzalez edging him out 114-112 but 2 of the judges had it the other way and one had it a draw. Chocolatito set a record for most power punches landed in a light featherweight bout and had about 80-90 more punches landed than Rungvisai. Great bout though. First time I've seen chocolatito go down. Rungvisai has a hell of a chin. He just kept coming forward. It was obvious that chocolatito lost a decent amount of power moving up to 115. Can't wait for a rematch

I also had GGG winning last night. I had it 114-113. Jacobs was about 10-12lbs heavier and it showed. He chose not to weight in during the morning so the ibf title was off the table but it was still a great fight. I'd like to see a rematch but I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon. Canelo and Chavez jr are fighting 5/6 and I'm guessing the winner will get GGG.

Who does everyone have as best pound for pound after last night. Not chocolatito anymore. If you're going by record it'd be ward and ggg. I think lomenchenko is the best out there right now
