The only thing keeping this album from being number 5 of the "big 4"

, is that Why I Am just doesn't sound good to me on the studio version. The Vocals sounds like Dave woke up and laid them down without warming up and there is something about the sound of the guitar that is off imo.

Fantastic album otherwise, great songwriting!

I have Busted Stuff ranked ahead of Big Whiskey because of the sheer amount of classic songs on it. I don't see how you can rank Big Whiskey above the album with Bartender, YNK, Grey Street, Raven, BEF, Grace is Gone, KKJ, etc.

But in terms of cohesiveness and energy, I agree that Big Whiskey is one of their best. I hope Come Tomorrow can at least meet it in terms of overall quality.

I enjoy Away From The World and Busted Stuff much more than Big Whiskey. Depending on the day, I enjoy Everyday more than Big Whiskey.

Not close to BS/LWS in my opinion. I enjoy Big Whiskey and AFTW about the same. I enjoy actual whiskey more than either.

I agree with the OP.

BS has better songs but BW is a better studio album to listen to.

As a group of songs I'm fairly positive I'm going to like Come Tomorrow more than AFTW and Big Whiskey

Busted Stuff sounds uninspired to me. I love a lot of the songs, but in the LWS form, why Dave took the falsetto out of Raven is beyond me.

YNK is not very good in the studio either imo. Great live though! One of Dave's best songs.

I feel like Whiskey is a nice evolution of the band into a harder sound where everyday for the most part is lacking in substance.

For a lot of the "meh" Rooftop generally gets, I really do enjoy the Rooftop, Snow Outside > Drunken Soldier run.

Rooftop is amazing and I love the live breakdown they do. That song, along with Idea of You were the two that first got me into DMB in late 2012-early 2013.

I never could get into rooftop. I think it would be a great stp song but that's not what I'm looking for from dmb.
Drunken soilder would be a great instrumental.

I'm a big LLMU fan, but I still find Snow Outside to be a very strong track.

Definitely agree with this, it’s the most disappointed I’ve been as a fan after listening to a new album for the first time.

Also the album that has the most songs I wish would disappear forever on tour...

snow outside and soldier are the far and away best tracks on the album. but that album is good because the weaker songs like if only and mercy are very good.

idk, my appreciation for that album goes up with time. just say same for crap like stand up and whiskey.

I can listen to uttad,crash,btcs, and Busted Stuff without skipping a single track. Cant say the same thing for Big Whiskey.

AFTW on the other hand I can fully listen to without cringing, and has some top 30 quality songs like Snow Outside and Broken Things.
