Re: The Corner of Grey Street Podcast

Just listened to the last episode, "Mexican Trifecta": a great one, as usual. And also had a pleasant surprise. Thanks a lot, Bruce and Nolan.

    Hi, Bruce and Nolan!

Thank you so much for the shout out to Xcacel and I in regards to the DMBremasters website we're building out. That was such a fun surprise! We really appreciate the kind words and the plug! Cheers!

Great episode so far, too. I'm really enjoying the breakdown of what they played in Mexico and the implications of how that may set up the summer tour.

I appreciate what you gentleman do! Thanks again!

We have to find ways to get 5 star reviews and not 1 star reviews. This is the way.

Always appreciate seeing how my thoughts compare to y'all's..good pod

Even with the lack of horns in some big places, I feel like they really showed their range on this album...giving After Everything some of it's Sgt Pepper Beatles feel, Wanted Tomorrow's Big Whiskey/Easy DNA, Ocean & Butterfly a 50's-60's pop touch.

The band has been trying to deliver something like After Everything for a long, long time..it shares so much with Be Yourself, but it's self-aware of it's ridiculousness.

DMB is becoming less of my thing. But this iteration of the band is finding it's sound(s). And DMB is DMB when they have multiple sounds to tap into...they'd lost that over the past couple years

Interesting to go back to these comments now that the album is out. It seems to be a near-universal opinion that they absolutely nailed OATB in the studio

This matches up a lot with what I said elsewhere...that this album is almost a musical journey through the decades. They hit a lot of styles and eras and from that perspective, I can understand some of the mixed reviews. From my perspective, though, that's what excites me about it.

Aside from After Everything, there's not much on this album for the haters. Maybe that's why they're mad.

Truly incredible interview w/ Clint - thanks for the time in this. Very cool to get his perspective of the album (and Nashville show)

Some interesting, funny, and spot on comments about the boards as well.

    Enjoy Charleston, gentlemen!

Great Charleston recap! Nice getting those gems on Friday but that run from Typical to Ants N2 was just great. Could have used Two Step & Busted Stuff for sure. Glad I have these next three shows spread out a bit to see what else pops up this tour. Wish Recently would heat back up somehow haven’t caught that full band since WPB 16

I really enjoyed the Clint Wells ep as I'm playing catch up today. As someone who came into the fandom because of "Come Tomorrow" and was also part of the Nashville show this year, a lot of his thoughts really resonated with me. It's refreshing to think back to those days of being untainted by message boards, couch touring, and seeing multiple shows a year.

I always love hearing those perspectives. Same goes for someone like a Joe Lawlor who gave his perspective on set lists, songs etc in general and it’s just such a much better way to consume and appreciate DMB than what most of us here do most of the time haha.

We will be discussing the most current DMB/D&T/whatever tour is going on and going back and reliving some of our favorite moments from the past. We plan on having a lot of discussion, show reviews, some interviews, and also playing a little music here and there as well. We are not here to compete with Matt and Joe and the AntsMarching.org Podcast or anything like that. They do a great job and will be doing different material and more relevant Ants.org news than we will as well. This is a wonderful and inclusive community where we'd love to flourish cohesively. We'd also love to have them on the show at some point and discuss how they became DMB fans, how this site came to be, what have been some of their favorite memories etc.

Anyways, our goal is to provide this diverse fanbase with a DMB podcast experience that is new and unique. This show will be having weekly episodes to provide instant reactions to the recent shows, discuss some of our favorite performances, and play some of that music for you. It will have episodes where we will take a trip back in time to rediscover some of DMB's finest moments, and break down why those are important and why we love them so much. Hopefully, we will play some music you have never heard before or just forgotten about and inspire you to check out some of the DMB gems of the past. We plan on being an interactive show and allowing fans to request some of their favorite songs, shows, months, years for us to discuss and preview on the podcast. The Corner of Grey Street will be an all encompassing show that is by fans and for the fans. We hope you will subscribe, rate, review, and most importantly enjoy our show.

A "Teaser" episode is already available and we plan on posting our first real episode tomorrow prior to the Camden weekend.

I haven’t listened to the whole thing but enjoyed the pod with Ryan Storm. So cool that he’s in his early 20s and pursuing podcasting/music journalism as a full-time gig.

Loved the fresh perspective from the guests in the past two episodes. Clint and Ryan made me feel less guilty about my excitement for Jimi Thing, Bayou and other un-cool songs.

Thanks for all you do Bruce and Nolan!

    Yeah, he's cool.
It has definitely been nice to hear these show reviews from people who have been out of the loop for a decade.

No shade, but I couldn't help but think "how does this kid afford to go to all these concerts?" Seriously, I'm a 38-year-old with a well-paying job and feel like I'm going totally broke going to 4 DMB shows and 5 Goose shows this year.

I agree with Ryan too that the sound was fucked up and bad at Darien. It wasn't great at Riverbend either. Why does it seem like this year DMB's live sound quality has been terrible? I know it's not the musicians cuz they sound great on Sirius, so what's up with the live mix?

    Thanks for listening!

We will have some more guests coming as we move through the summer tour. Not as frequent as of late (that we know of), but still some to look forward to!
