Re: Share your unpopular DMB opinions.

Spaceman is the best song off BW, AFTW, and CT. I'd take it live over most songs on those 3 albums as well.

Never understood why people bash Dave for playing Jimi Thing when the crowd literally sings the intro to the song fairly often in excitement and it gets a huge reaction every time. That's like a network choosing to not air one of their most watched TV shows. I'd rather them play other songs, but can we really blame them for playing it?

I sing every song, even the ones I hate...but yea, the crowd singing likely plays into why it gets played so often.

If you're referring to my comment earlier I was kidding, a lot of people enjoy it

Oh didn't see your comment earlier. Just listening back to Drive In and the Jimi and thought of it.

I'd definitely say it's up there for me. I really enjoy spaceman, I was lucky to catch the debut and it's still my favorite version. I'd say lithog, b&bb, and spaceman would be my top three from those albums.

Squirm beats it imo, along with Broken Things and COCO. I’d say Spaceman ties with Rooftop but is more rare so I’d rather hear it live.

Dave Matthews is a narcissistic asshole with a disproportionate ego. His narcissism has lead to a steady decline in quality out of the band, both in the studio and on the road. They sound worse now than they ever have, and Dave is happier with it than he's ever been.

Last show I attended was in 2016 and I don't see ever changing.

Drive In Drive Out is possibly the best produced and mixed studio cut in the catalog. Put on some good headphones and crank it up. It’s so well done, and it’s not anywhere near my favorite song.

I'm in this camp as well. Fuck off if it's unpopular.

    Drive In, Drive Out
    PNP->Rapunzel
    The Best of Whats Around
    Too Much
    Ants Marching
    Warehouse
    Two Step
    The Dreaming Tree
    So Much To Say

Those are some of my absolute favorite studio cuts from this band. DIDO is the best though.

The gold pour poster and sweet tea poster are overrated. The sweet tea is nice but nothing crazy and the gold pour looks like a run of the mill poster in my opinion.

Ok, I'll say it. The "it needs that pace" clip form the Big Whiskey documentary is overrated. If that was what we ended up on the album and the early session sounded like Time Bomb, we'd all be clamoring over that instead.

Whenever Dave says "I hope I have a good time tonight" right before he plays DYR, Jimi Thing, Seven, Shake Me, She, and others is a direct shot at these boards.

I want to send Dave to a Dave Grohl musician bootcamp. The fans are the only reason you get to stand on that stage and do what you do. Not saying he owes us anything, but the side-talking digs from last night and the Vegas show earlier this year shows you how out of touch he can be with what fans love.

That sounds much more like a commonly held perception around here than an unpopular opinion.

This is easily the biggest collection of smartass DMB fans on earth, myself included. If you have an opinion about DMB and you want to write it somewhere, this website is where you write it. I think the popular opinions of these boards absolutely get back to him. Why would he make a snide comment before JIMI THING, an stone cold classic on their first album of all the songs in the world?
