Fiddler's 2019 N2 is my vote for a CT era show. Not just because I was there.

I want 2021 shows because the set lists are generally better than 2018/19 and Dave’s voice sounds much better in 2021.

I'm sure it's been said many times in this 187 page thread, but #41 no longer carries any weight for me. I'll give it through the lyrics, but then ask down the row "who needs a beer?" Also, Seek Up, while great - intro is on fire right now - is a set eater and just deflates the energy and flow. If I'm going to get it, I'd prefer song 6-7 and certainly not opener.

Buddy Strong is a mediocre musician who doesn't know the songs and is a failed attempt at filling Boyd's role. But at least Dave likes him and he seems to be having fun.

I bet you're one of those people who refers to a Hammond B3 as a "ballpark organ".

That or calling it a "church organ." Not gonna lie, this is one of the most aggravating takes I see on this site

The B3 has been a staple instrument of rock for decades, and people on here talk like it's some weird, idiosyncratic thing Buddy hauled out of the storage room of his church. Y'all know better than that.

I assume most people know the instrument has a name, it sounds horrible and is completely out of place with DMB, I don't think people calling it a church organ or ballpark organ is out of line at all

I don't think I've ever heard Buddy use ballpark registration, or anything particularly close to it. He uses more of a gospel sound on Everyday, but that's about it. Most of the time, Buddy uses a thinner, janglier registration (Bayou, DYR, Madman's Eyes, etc.,) probably to cut through Tim and the horns.

^ this, thanks grill. I've appreciated it more over the past year or so but still not as amped on it as so many others.

Maybe it's difficult for me to thoroughly enjoy a song with such a dark reason behind it. I can't imagine how Dave was impacted by that and I need to appreciate how he is able to express such a terrible situation. Yet another sign of how incredible of an artist he really is.

That riff hits. As for wailing though, bring back ABI or give more of it in Seek Up.

The only song I 100% dislike is Bayou, but its ability to diminish a show it predicated on where it lands in the set.

    - When it opened SPAC 2019 N2 and we were on the rail, it was more of relief that it wouldn't eff up the rest of the night.

    - When it closed Mansfield's main set this year, is sucked the life out of a set that already had 8 repeats from the previous which we'd also attended. Enjoyed the encore, but still.

    - mid set it can kill a nice run, but ideally we get a bunch of tunes that help diminish its presence...

When properly jammed out, I think the Loving Wings outro is a top 5 jam DMB has in the catalog.

Agree with both! I miss hearing Loving Wings, but it always get like Roi’s song so I can see why it hasn’t shown up at all lately.

    “People”, or DMB?

It’s only been played a handful of times since he passed, sometimes on Rois bday. The band also played the studio song on the PA in memory of Roi.
