They had a healthy Rivers, LT, and Gates in week 2 and lost by 24. But that was a different SD team back then. All F'd up thanks to poor coaching at the time.

True. But I think they've been purposefully holding back and come February 3rd they will bring it all on again! Well, sort of. I think the game will be much like the last regular game of the season, and with the outcome being the same as well.

your saying that the pats didn't try in their first 2 playoff games? could it be that they were just playing 2 hungry, talented teams?

Uh, no. The rest of my post states that I don't really think that. And that I do think the game will be close like the first meeting between the two but that the Pats will win again.

The Pats match up better with The Giants than any other playoff team they've faced so far.

it's not that they didn't try, they just didn't play at their true caliber.

are teams playing up to the patriots? yes. are the patriots playing down to said teams? yes.

That doesn't mean they beat good teams.

The NFL was awful this year, and the Pats benefitted.

Exactly, look at the rest of the teams in their division...and they played each of them twice!

I only come up with 6 wins against playoff teams.

They beat a battered Colts team, a Chargers team adjusting to a new regime, and a Steelers team in the midst of record collapse. What they did was impressive, but I'm still more impressed by the 2004 team.

I find it shocking that so many people believed a team lead by Wade Phillips or a 38 year old QB could be legit contenders, and I'm as guilty as anyone.

I like this Giants team, but they're probably one of the 5 worst teams to play in the Super Bowl. (That would be a good discussion)

From the lack of weather in NE to Randy Moss actually putting forth effort the Pats have been very lucky. I don't see why Pats fans have a problem with people saying that.

They had a great season, but they're not the best team in history.

That hasn't been luck my friend, it's been a team clicking and running on all cyliners at the right time of the season.

so...corey websters interception in OT that set up the winning field goal in green bay was luck?

Eli throwing no int's in the 3 road playoff games was luck?

the giant defense shutting down two high scoring 13-3 teams on the road was luck?
