BT, what was your concert experience like for Goose? Were people social distancing? Were there long lines to get in? People wearing masks? Overall good experience?

    Absolutely fantastic experience.

It was a “pod show”. So we purchased a 2-person pod and were assigned our location. The venue was The Caverns, in Pelham TN. Normally they hold the shows underground in the cave, but with Covid they moved them above ground on the field/hill near the cave entrance. The bathrooms were still in the cave and you got to walk around in there. Absolutely gorgeous place.

Upon driving in to the parking area, the temp checked all passengers before showing us where to go park. Everything in the venue was app-based. You could pre-order full meal boxes, or order drink/light snacks and merch day of and during the show. We ordered water bottles before the show. When we got to our pod, they were there in a nice zip lock with ice to keep them cool. We ordered a few alcoholic beverages and merch throughout the show. Took ~5min between placing the order on the app and delivery to our pod.

All the pods were roped off with ~6ft between you and the next pod over or in front/behind. We brought lawn chairs and a blanket but mostly stood and danced the whole time. Everyone was pretty good about sticking to their pod. It was nice because you got the crowd energy and vibe while having personal space. Everyone was asked to wear a mask when outside of their pod/going to the bathroom. The info said they’d eject people who didn’t comply, but it wasn’t strictly enforced, maybe 70% followed the rules? But we’re vaccinated and didn’t have issues wearing ours or being near those who didn’t.

Overall it was a 10/10 experience before even considering how awesome the music was. I’d absolutely do a pod show again in a heartbeat.

that's awesome, thanks for sharing. Would love to see D&T at the Caverns but a ticket would probably run at least a grand each.

I know you were asking Baboon but I was there too. I saw he said people were good about sticking in their pod. My area was a little more misbehaved. People definitely mingled. Especially the longer the night went on. There was on pod that like 10-12 people. (Max pod was 6).

Closest I've been to seeing them live was seeing Stirratt with Ray Lamontagne lol. Never had the chance before though. I've heard nothing but great things

Did you have to show any vaccination card, Widespread when entering the place?

It’s wild that now I’m having to pick an choose shows. I’m doing 3 nights of phish Sac and San Fran X2. Will be an expensive ass trip, so I really can only do one more show. Contemplating between widespread at red rocks, and dmb somewhere. I would do widespread at red rocks and dmb if I was anywhere close to Denver, but I’m like 6+ hours away, and don’t have a car. We shall see, but I love having this problem instead of zero shows because of corona. Feels good!

Yeah a looot of these shows are starting to overlap. Don't know how much of that is due to COVID re-scheduling.

    Show's I'm considering:

    - 8/13: Lil Wayne
    - 8/14: Local Natives
    - 9/10-11: DMB
    - 9/21: John Legend
    - 9/21: Kings of Leon
    - 9/25: Waxahatchee
    - 9/25: James Blake
    - 9/25-27: Ohana Festival
    - 10/22: Dashboard Confessional
    - 11/4: Julien Baker

Haha lil Wayne would never even come close to my list of live performances I want to see. I’ll admit I like a few Wayne songs, and I like some rap (mostly 90s rap). I just don’t get the appeal of live rap. Maybe If Pac came back from hiding away in Cuba, and performed a show I would be interested in seeing that. That’s about it though. To each their own!

It's more for the mere fact of experiencing him live one time before he fades off. I've loved his shit since the late 2000s and never got to see him in his prime. I go to rap shows occasionally...it's a different vibe, much more about dancing with the rhythm and vibing with everyone else near you compared to like shows with bands that play actual instruments. Sort of like EDM shows. Live rap vocals suck half the time, but a good beat and production still makes it fun.

Echoing. Lolla is terrible. The other Chicago fests are really gonna benefit from that. Riot Fest has a great lineup this year and they'll definitely be stealing some business now.
