You were one of the most confident daters in here man. It’s still in there, you just got to get all that other baggage out of the way.

Me: I have two appointments tomorrow to look at rings.

One is at Brilliant Earth. It’s going to happen, insane.

I was confident Bc everything I experienced led me to my now ex, whom I always saw a future with but stupidly neglected it due to my work. She’s now let go of the desire to settle down and now wants to live the life she’s entitled to—the life of a early 20 year old—bc she’s suddenly certain there’s no future with me anymore and wants to see what’s out there. Just stinks. Can’t help but shake that small bit of hope that life will cross our paths again.

You know this but the healthier and happier you get, and back on your feet to your old self, the better the chances she might come back and if not, you’ll be ready for someone even better.

    Early 20s, lots can happen.

    When is your next date?

I dont want to be the old self, the old me. That one led to this downfall. So, I know what you’re trying here, but this one isn’t coming back. She’s young, she’s got. She can just bend over in a bar and a million guys will flock. She loves the attention. Sucks

    They were ok.

One loose diamond broker and brilliant earth.

Leaning towards buying a nice stone and putting it in a temporary setting and then letting her design the ring after I ask her and having it custom made.

I think she would like that, she is creative and this broker also designs rings and it seems like it would be a good experience.

I’ve gotten you blame yourself for screwing it up but honestly, maybe you didn’t and it just wasn’t right enough for the long term.

This girl I’m with has stuck by me through some difficult situations (kids stuff mostly) and never wavered.

Whatever you did, if she fell so far out maybe it was never going to have what it too to make it....good times and bad and all.

If that’s the case, maybe better to find out now since that person that will always stick by you and put your needs and what you want first is still out there.

How'd the date go? Was this with a girl you recently met? Have you been in touch with this girl since the date or was it just a casual night out to ease your mind?

She didn't but I can't say for certain if she saw me or not. I'm suppose to go get beers with her tonight. I'm fully prepared to either be stood up or confronted.

It went ok. Didn’t think about my ex so I know that’s possible. Met her literally that day. We text maybe once a day. Doesn’t seem like it’s gonna go anywhere, which I’m happy with Bc I need time still. Just hoping it leads to a lay Bc I need to flush my ex out

Gettin back into the tinder/bumble game now that summer is in full swing. I just always get side tracked and don't really even respond for about 12 hours. Idk if that's a turn of of not? I don't want to seem desperate either

Five months after my breakup. Been on tinder/bumble/etc and started seeing this girl a little--like four dates or so. No clue how I feel. Only been with my ex, she was my first relationship, dated 2.5 years. Can't stop thinking about her. This all pretty much sucks

Sorry man, I had a friend in pretty much the same situation. He had a few dates here and there and finally the right girl came around and he forgot about the other girl but it took time. I think first relationships are the hardest to get over.

I think I have a date set up with this chick a few years older then me and in law school. I have to say it's way more intimidating then the last date I went on because her intellectual level seems way higher then mine.

I'm not saying I'm dumb, but I'm not even close to that level of schooling yet. I'm still in CC

I feel like about a 18/19 year old fresh out of HS would be more on my level

If you make her laugh, smile, and do the gentleman type things you're supposed to do, all of that goes out the window. Just don't fumble around and be confident in yourself.

Much appreciated. Guess I was naive and actually convinced myself I'd marry her. Not realistic, but man I really did myself in.
