May be addition by subtraction, did Indy take on the entire contact too?

Eagles got the smallest cap hit possible by trading him. Not sure how much of the guaranteed money is left or what transfers over to the Colts payroll day one. NFL contracts are goofy.

I think it’s a great deal for the Colts. Still need a left tackle, seems like it’s a good draft for tackles so glad the Colts still have their 1st rounder.

Wentz is not the answer to any football problem.

And Indy is taking on $25MM of his contract ???

    So dumb.

The conditional 2nd round pick is likely to become a 1st round pick next year. Seems like that is getting lost in the shuffle a little. The most likely scenario is this a 3rd round pick this year and 1st round pick next year.

Still think its a pretty good trade for Indy.

3rd and a late 1st for Wentz isn't a bad deal. Especially getting his contract off the books.

If I'm the Birds I am drafting Wilson, Fields or Lance at #6 (or trading up). That's you how you accelerate the rebuild.

You do not draft a QB if you're Philly, Jesus Christ.

why not? Hurts was a 3rd rd grade QB, he was brought into to be the backup.

You have the 6th pick and your franchise QB is right there for you.

    If your boyfriend

    -has 0 playoff wins

    -has 59 fumbles

-is 7-20 vs teams over 500

-has no heart and no desire to win

-has started 5-6 in 3 of his first 4 seasons

-has the IQ of a potato

-has less playoff passing TD’s than Derrick Henry

    Then you’re dating Carson Wentz

why not? Eagles aren't in the top 10 very often. If they feel like they can get a guy they like at 6, or move up for him, then they kind of have to. If they don't think they can do that, then ride with Hurts.

The Eagles are going to be a shit team next year. Let Hurts play, see what you have. If he plays great, roll with him. If he's bad, we're a 4-6 win team and likely in the top 10 again.

So you draft your franchise WR with that thinking and fall right back into the top 10 next year and draft one of those QBs. Do not pass up on a future franchise WR for a third straight year. It's absolutely killed them.

to that point though, there's 'franchise' WR's in every draft. It's not like missing out on Smith or Chase is going to handicap philly like missing out on a top tier QB would. How many late round WR's have panned out as opposed to late round QB's?

Would Eagles fans be okay shipping Hurts with draft pick to move up?

I would be okay with the Falcons entertaining a trade for #4 that included Hurts and a slew of picks.

If anyone is gonna turn Wentz back around, it’s Reich. The bigger question mark to me is whether he can stay healthy, but that got addressed with the conditional pick.

Seems like a decent trade for both sides.

Franchise WR isn't even a thing. A great WR can undoubtedly help a team, but one player at the position isn't going to significantly alter the state of a franchise. Philly definitely needs to invest in the position. They shouldn't do that at the expensive of a QB if there is a guy they really like.
