truly loved this season til today

part 2 looks sick though
I think this just proves that Murphy can't strike the right balance with the show. With too many episodes, the season just drags. With too few, the story feels rushed. It also doesn't help that there weren't really any standout performances this season. We didn't get a Tate Langdon or a Fiona Goode or a Twisty the Clown or a Dandy Mott, etc. It was atmospheric as hell, and obviously heavy on satire and social commentary, but there's nothing overly memorable about it from a character/storyline standpoint.

I won't grade it until Part 2 is completed, but it's clearly not on the level of the first 3 seasons. Coven remains my favorite.

The only season I didn’t finish was Hotel. After the episode with the vampire kids in the school I tapped

I'm a Hotel apologist. There's some truly shocking imagery from that season that still sticks with me. It's not the best season by any stretch, but it blows something like 1984 out of the water.

Best show on television. So hard to watch from week-to-week because I'm always left wanting more.

S2 is better than S1 IMO. Very much looking forward to S3.

Blah - perfect title. First episode sucks you in and it gets progressively worse. Hate the way it ended. Good enough for me to binge apparently, but not happy I did.

yeah Hotel was really satisfying and had a TON of aspects i loved, and that world of time travel and ghosts was just really cool. it actually felt really cohesive except for the Ten Commandments stuff towards the end. only seen it once so it’s fuzzy

i definitely think splitting up the season works for how the story was laid out and focused, it’s just the rushed ending like Clay said. the take many people online have is that this is the writer Falchuk’s fault, but i don’t know enough of Murphy’s other work to know for sure. i think for this season in particular they chose a social commentary ending as opposed to a sensible plot ending, which sucked. just a lack of vision from the writers room. i get this show isn’t prestige enough to get panties in a bunch about but sheeeesh a bad finale sucks regardless of what’s going on

however, i think the Pale folks were VERY memorable, as was Alma. that kid killed it. not quite Twisty level but she was definitely the star that will be remembered.

I watched the wonder years reboot. I feel like there's a really good gem of a show in there somewhere but it really kind of seemed all over the place. Its shot like a dramatic show but the dialogue is written like a sitcom. I liken it to a slightly less comedic version of the Goldberg's more than a serious drama with comedic bits like its namesake.

There were some really great moments in the show though, I'm interested to see where they go with it. I'm hopeful they can so something with it but we will see. Also they need to fix the music, definitely needs more time period pieces.

Agreed. And I also chalked it up as sitcom pilots are always wonky

Hopefully they will smooth it out as the season goes

I think this working from home thing has made my attention span waiver. I jump around from show to show and cant really get into one at the moment.

I started Doom Patrol and Im actually into it, so far. Has that Umbrella Academy vibe.
Wife and I are plugging through Breaking Bad, her first watch, my second, but Im loving the rewatch.

I just burned through the first 5 episodes of Midnight Mass, but work responsibilities are going to keep me from finishing it until later today. As far as Mike Flanagan goes, it's certainly no Hill House but so far I prefer it to Bly Manor (which I still liked quite a bit).

I'll likely fire up Foundation first so I can save the final two eps for after dark. Fun day of new television.

1st season was one of the best seasons of TV I've ever watched. It slowly goes downhill from here though. Still a good show

That's what I've heard. We're invested now so will probably continue. Carrie has already started to really annoy me with her shit.

I loved the first season. I quit watching in the middle of S3. Carrie became unwatchable, imo.
