Lampedusa: Concerts for Refugees Tour, Moore Theatre, Seattle, WA

Last night 10/03/2017

The complete setlist is not yet available, but there are videos of Mercy, Sweet, Samurai Cop, My Antonia (Emmylou Harris & Dave) and a wonderful Tom Pettys cover of Refugee! I loved it.

    Awesome show last night.

    Dave's setlist:

    Mercy
    Don't Drink the Water
    Sweet
    Little Red Bird
    Samurai Cop

Guested on Refugee, My Antonia, and sang some backing vocals on a few other songs.

Why the fuck was Dave the second performer of the night? Does Steve Earle really think he was the main draw at this show? There's a reason the Seattle and Portland shows of this tour are the only two that have sold out. Patty Griffin and Steve Earle should be grateful that they have the privilege of sharing a bill with Dave.

Simmer down. That's not how it worked. All 4 musicians were onstage the entire night and took turns playing songs. The actual setlist for the night was:

    Refugee (everyone)
    Emmylou song
    Mercy
    Patty Griffin song
    Steve Earle song
    My Antonia (Emmylou and Dave)
    Don't Drink the Water
    Patty Griffin song
    Steve Earle song
    Emmylou song
    Sweet
    Patty Griffin song
    Steve Earle song
    Emmylou song
    Little Red Bird
    Patty Griffin song
    Steve Earle song
    Emmylou song
    Samurai Cop
    Patty Griffin song
    Pilgrim (everyone)

Tiny generic looking black poster that just had Lampedusa and artist names.

As much as I enjoyed the show last night, I was pretty disappointed by the lack of respect shown towards the other artists by the crowd. Obviously Dave was the big draw, but he was not the only one performing. The other artists were not there as Dave's opening act, they were all sharing the stage together. Maybe it was just where I was sitting, but the amount of talking when Steve, Emmylou and Patty were playing was distracting and rude. Based on the way the crowd was acting, you would have thought we were on the hill at the Gorge watching the opening band as opposed to watching an amazing intimate performance by 5 incredible musicians. It would have been nice if the crowd showed the same amount of respect towards the other musicians as Dave himself did. That being said, Refugee and My Antonia were the highlights for me. Don't Drink was also a nice surprise. What a cool experience. Glad I was able to attend.

    No poster that I saw.

Where were you sitting? I was in Row L of the 1st balcony and while people weren't quite as engaged during the other artists, they weren't talking.

I was in row N and the people behind me would not shut up. To the point where my friend had to turn around twice and ask them to be quiet. I am really happy that I got to hear all about how one of the dudes got to see Dave and Tim at SPAC earlier this summer. The group in front of us were pretty chatty as well. Maybe I just happened to be around the wrong people. And maybe I should take a fucking chill pill and realize that everyone has different ways of enjoying a show. I just thought people would have more respect in a theater setting.

Having been to over 100 DMB, D&T, Dave solos since 1998 this was really a wonderful experience. The amount of respect between everyone on stage for each other was great to watch. Dave seemed stoked to be there, was super engaged and sounded great.

Agreed, the crowd was more talkative than I've seen at other D&T shows which took a bit away but overall really solid set.

When I walked by the merch table there was a "signed poster" for sale for $100. Not sure who it was signed by, that's just what the price list said.

Refugee is a song I'd love to see carry over and be in the sleuth of covers the band seems to rotate through every summer. Dave's vocals were spot on.

That refugee performance is fucking amazing for learning it in probably a few hours.

Also, Dave's voice in an acoustic setting is where he belongs. Hearing this, and comparing it to the live stream from last week, it sounds like two different singers, and thats not a good thing

Seattle's show was great. I do agree that there were too many people yelling and talking during all the other artists songs. No respect. Dave was in the presence of great artists and he knew he was, as you could tell he was nervous singing on some of their songs.

The signed poster was signed by Dave and others. Not bad for a $100 price tag.

Dave is a phenomenal artist as well. People here tend to to sell him short on these boards. He is more than worthy of sharing the stage with anyone.

I've seen the videos from this show ... Great performances , insufferable crowd.

Seriously , think from daves perspective for a minute . How much can he enjoy playing when there's a fucking squeal every 10 seconds . No one shuts up to hear the guitar work in a lull in a song. There is cheering after every verse .

At least in an electric setting the volume is turned up over the crowd . Maybe that's part of the reason why faster/louder exists ... It's to tune out the crowd and prevent them from ruining the music.
