I mean, I'm not mad at ya about it. I really, really wanted to fly from Utah to SC this weekend w my gf for these but crazy flight prices helped us say no.

I'm sure a large majority who traveled are still having a great weekend, seems like the type of city where it would be hard not to.

I def appreciate what you bring to the DMB community, would love to link at a show sometime

And who knows what we may see slots 15+ tonight

    Fiddler's 2021 was similar.

I often wonder how much he thinks about the Sirius Friday stream sets compared to the non-streamed Saturday's now that it's a thing.

Hahah, I was at N2. I remember thinking this is gonna be a great set once pig started as it had been good so far. Sweet, can’t stop, tgiy already played. Then that run of bayou -cornbread happened. Yikes. Great encore though.

Oof the more '21 sets I remind myself of the more I don't wanna hear about "bad runs" in '22. Can't find anything in '22 so far nearly as bas as some of this stuff. Sure there have been some "inconsistent" sets but usually have some great songs sprinkled in. '21 featured full blown garbage slides like these

    N2 Fiddlers '21:
    Time of the Season*
    Louisiana Bayou*
    SDL
    You & Me
    Rye Whiskey
    Everyday*
    Sledgehammer
    Gravedigger*
    Cornbread*

    Holmdel '21:
    Can't Stop
    Samurai Cop
    Rapunzel (the one good song)
    OATB*
    Seven
    Sledgehammer
    Louisiana Bayou*
    LITHOG

*Has not been played in '22

Re: I don't know about you, but I'm feeling '22 (tour chat)

As much as I do not want 5 come tomorrow songs in a set (last night 1st time that happened full band since WPB N1 2019) the reports from people at the show had Charleston N2 as a more casual fan crowd Saturday versus more die hards there on Friday. I think if this is the case it is due to local casual fans not wanting to go to N1 because they wanted to go home and sleep from a long day of work and then wanting to have fun on Saturday.

Even so on my stream last night someone called in and said someone next to them asked where Leroi Moore was. The other called talked about how more people were there N2 but it appeared more casual.

I say all this to say that the band does a great job of making sets for the crowd at hand. N1 charleston had better deep cuts and new songs the die hards like (MME). N2 had more commercial friendly songs for a casual base in the south at an intimate venue view wise.

Charleston N2 being a N2 set for camden, spac, deer creek, or alpine would be a shame. But this N2 set in Charleston maybe just 1 deep cut away from really being up to par.

I think this page nearly falling off the first page and the setlist thread sums up how the tour is currently going in the eyes of fans who have supported them the longest

Disappoint a handful of curmudgeons on an online forum that might not even be at the show and didn't purchase tickets while the thousands of fans that are actually in attendance and purchased tickets jam out to Sledgehammer. In addition I bet some of those people jamming to Sledgehammer have been supporting the band since the beginning and would support them no matter what. Just seems like good business to me.

Aside from people on here's entitlement and sense of self-importance on how things should be, in reality some fun things continue to be happening at shows in '22. Should only get better as we get into some of the major stops.

I agree with this completely. I really didnt understand the Blossom hate. I was there and it was one of the most fun sets I've ever seen (86 shows). I even went by myself and still completely enjoyed it. The flow was awesome and just a fun ass show!

I haven't seen many negative comments about Blossom. Or if there have been there's so few I missed it. It's a good show.

I can't remember which thread it was in but there were definitely some Blossom bashing going on. Maybe not a lot, but I do recall seeing it.

I saw most of it happening in the Blossom thread after the show. Sounded like there were some folks who had a terrible time because of their neighbors at the show rather than the actual show. Which obviously should be removed from the overall conversation.

I will still contend that for a 1 off Friday night show, Blossom is and will be one of the better sets this summer.

From someone only watching setlists, they look ok! Though there seems to be a ton of repeats and most 2 nighters are getting the same 35 ish songs. Nothing wrong with that. But it's obvious they have 40 well rehearsed songs, another 10 or so that they can mix in, and then the random few they pull out when they feel like it that might get 4 plays all summer.

Getting Break Free, Break For It, MME and the other new tracks is enough to keep me interested this year. I honestly don't know what break out song they could play that would be just unreal this year. Especially considering Dreaming Tree and Shotgun were played.

Re: I don't know about you, but I'm feeling '22 (tour chat)

At this point, I've just resigned to understanding the variety of any given show or weekend going to be pretty minimal. They want every show outside of The Gorge to just have a standard. They don't want any one venue feeling like they got a short show or a long show or whatever. It's very much a brand now.

I have lowered my standards in terms of hoping for any show to just be epic. Because honestly, even when the set includes some crazy break outs, those are typically not the songs that sound amazing anyways. Shotgun and Dreaming Tree are just not what they once were. No big deal. Just lost a little magic in those ones.

I don't care if I get 4 big Whiskey, 4 Come Tomorrow, 4 new songs and 4 classic including YMDT and LB. That's what I'm in for this summer. If they play some crazy set one night I attend. Awesome. I will not be disappointed though if they play a show I've more or less already seen.

Kind of hoping for good shows myself, not sure if that's too much to ask for with high ticket prices

Just watched a couple of the Copperpot youtube videos from this year. Is Dave's voice weak or something? I mean on LIOG with Derek Trucks he can't even do the "I'm blown away" part without shying away from the mic.. It's a bit concerning. I saw people commenting it was mostly the XM mix, but the videos with aud tapes are the real tell.

I saw people commenting it was mostly the XM mix, but the videos with aud tapes are the real tell.

His technique is solid, I'm not exactly hanging on every note of the tour but from what I've seen he has missed a lot of transitions going from one voice type to another, definitely raspy although I often consider that a good thing within reason.

Hartford got a great set tonight. The Stone, Say Goodbye, and Steady as We Go TD's with an Ants closer and Two Step E2. That's something I would have expected at a 2 night run like Deer Creek or Alpine.

Both Deer Creek and Alpine to come. Can't wait to see what the band brings to those venues!

It seems people have come to count on me to do this now, so I would be remise if I didn't check in after this weekend. Lets play AM.org vs. reality!

*WIA gets played in encore a couple times at beginning of tour*
AM - WIA is dominating the encore spot this year. Encores suck.
Reality - WIA has not been played in the encore for 10 shows, the most common E2 songs are tied between Ants and Two Step (plus Watchtower if you count 1 song encore). WIA with just 3 plays has now only appeared in 19% of all encores and 12.5% of E2 slots.

    Bonus round on E1:
By this point in '21 only 6 different were played.
In '22 11 different E1 songs have been played.

Also besides Ants in the closer slot 4 times no song has been played more than 3 times in any slot, another sign of great slot variety. Oh and SMLAM had already been played 5 times by this point in '21, 3 of the 5 in power slots. SMLAM has not been played in '22.

Anyhow that is enough of troll Alpine just cutting against popular opinions. Definitely not that I had a few criteria I was looking for in a tour that '22 kicks the snot out of '21 in those criteria, just trollinnnnn

Solid tour, mentioned this in the setlist game thread but will mention it here as well: they are rocking only 1 year (even less since last tour was a later start) after the best tour since 2013, got the band at my local bar in Park City, UT to play Jimi and #41 last night, happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there
