Re: The Corner of Grey Street Podcast

Thank you everyone who sent stuff in from Mexico last weekend. We tried to include as much as we could in today's episode! Always appreciative of the emails, recordings and reviews!

Re: The Corner of Grey Street Podcast

As a counterpoint, not to be argumentative, but just to add another perspective, because I see the Gorge PIT horror story take a lot around here:

I've done Gorge PIT around eight times and have never had a problem.

Can get a little crowded at times, but it's a concert, you're going to come in contact with other people.

My only disclaimer is that I haven't done PIT at any other venues, so it may be that Gorge PIT is just bad RELATIVE to other venue PITs.

I’ve done pit at a lot of venues from amps, to arenas, to stadiums, and have never had a major problem with it. However, I am more into my own personal space as the years have gone by haha

Another thing I did pick up on the podcast is Dave seemed to sing Dreaming Tree differently, I know there have been vocal changes to songs like SoL and Rapunzel in recent years and it looks like DT might be going that way

Yep. I can’t remember if I mentioned it specifically, but I had it in my notes and made sure to include the final verse for that very reason!

Yea Bruce you and Nolan do a great job. Bruce you own it, you have your own voice. I mean maybe you have, but you sound like you’ve been doing pods and/or public speaking for years. I doubt Yette and Jake really care since they seem to be totally apathetic to DMB, especially Jake since Come Tomorrow came out but they should be jealous of the content y’all put out. A+ stuff.

If I recall correctly, Jake hasn't been on the ants podcast in many months, if not 1 year plus, so yea, I doubt he cares.

Can't remember how the most recent version before Mexico sounded, but we were wondering if his voice was starting to fade from the long weekend and that was the reason for the change. Either way it still sounded good!

Apologies if this is a stupid question but, is there a list of all the shows that you mention or use snippets of? Would be cool to trawl through them and give them all a listen.

Many thanks for the hard work!

    Thanks for the kind words!

We certainly are not trying to compete with/rival/etc the Ants podcast. I mean they began long before podcasts were even close to being cool. I always have and always will enjoy listening to them.

this is something that is on my to-do list, but haven't gotten around to compiling it yet. Once I get started it won't take me very long, I just need to do it

Re: The Corner of Grey Street Podcast

You guys do a great job! I really enjoy your analysis/discussion of sets, good runs during shows, and especially the song clips... keep up the great work!

An idea to think about (but feel free to ignore it if you don't like it) -- maybe there could be a segment of "The show I went to that I didn't like or appreciate... but now it's aged really well and is underrated".

*Could obviously have a better, catchier title to it!

I was thinking about this when, at the gym, I have been listening to some old shows I went to. There have been some shows I've been to that, at the time, I felt sort of ho-hum about and/or underwhelmed... but, after I listen to the show a few years removed, I realize it was a much better show or better performances than I realized.

Maybe it could be like "Show that has grown on me the most"? or something like that. Could also be the same for tours... 2007 is a year I only saw the band once and felt I saw a pretty lackluster show (Jiffy Lube Live in 2007), but looking back on the set and after hearing it again, it's much better than I remembered.

    Thanks for being so kind

I definitely have a few shows that would fall into that category, so maybe we can come up with something at some point!

Yep. Recording and releasing later this week.

Great, thanks! If I may make a suggestion...What You Are is the best performance of the night in Vegas so it'd be great if you could splice in a portion of it for us to hear.

It’s on the list for sure.

One of Dave’s better vocal performances I’ve heard in quite a while. I could tell on the Facebook feed I was watching and it comes through on the tape well

I don't know why he feels his go to needs to be too high too hard too often with the full band, he sounds awful at the end of the phrase before "Pray down" and then when he gets to that part in his lower register he absolutely kills it

Yep he missed the third note on self, he actually got the first two so I guess I'm being a little overly critical but I feel like this is something that Raab could straighten out for other versions.

We've had some people each out here and there, so to piggyback off of this initial post, we will be doing one "soon". A lot of stuff has obviously happened over the last few days and a lot of things are in limbo, so we are just letting some things settle first.
