It was a few months back. Speaking of which, does anybody want to sell their vinyl version of this? I am interested.

I've never seen this either until just now, and I was thoroughly browsing the official site's music store like a week ago to update my own catalog and never came across this live release at that time.

Also, this collection has maybe 5 more songs than a normal Live Trax release and yet costs 2.5x more...why? Really want to give it a listen but no way I'm paying $35...

Yeah its probably the best live compilation they've released. All the tracks are gems.

Also, did I hear that one of the mods on this board had something to do with the track list? Whats the word on that?

Those folks (myself included) paid 180 for the vinyl. And 35 for the download. It is well worth it. It is a quintessential release. Probably the best collection of songs they've put out, and it has some real rare tracks on there, like Doobie Thing and Toy Soldiers.

This wasn't a straight one or a handful of shows mix job, the people who compiled the tracklist went through two decades of recordings in the vault. Then each song was mixed along with whatever else they needed to do to press the vinyl.

Yeah the extra $ is to pay for the hourly rate of going through the archives.

interesting! do you have any more info on this? is there a write up or something on who was involved, how long it took etc.? just seems like something cool to read about.

No write up, but Jake (site owner/operator) from here had a big hand in picking songs.

That's cool. Hopefully he does something up about the process, I'd like to hear what was cut, why this version vs. that etc. What a cool release, I'm lovin it.

I mentioned how we came across #41 in a podcast - so you don't have to go digging thru (and I have no idea which) basically we were going thru a bunch of 98 #41's and one stood out - was really a perfect Roi performance - sax and flute were just spot on. Dave's vocal was there, it was truly one of the best we'd heard.

After I went to figure out which it was (I used to listen to maybe 8-10 performances in a row of the same song), turns out it was a 1996 song, not a 98. I had accidentally moved the wrong year into the folder, but it worked out!

maybe one day they'll let the team tell the story b/c every song has a story like that. Literally every one.
