We will need to have you on to discuss some DMB vinyl, and just vinyl in general. Your IG page is so awesome!

Maybe have you AND doby join us for a vinyl episode!
Really appreciate that! Doby is definitely way more knowledgeable in all things music and audiophilia - but I'd love to discuss DMB vinyl with y'all!

Thanks again! I was going to be doing a giveaway today, but Instagram (and Facebook and WhatsApp) has been down most of the day. Moving it to Friday instead!

    Just wanted to say -

We got a BOWA opener in 2014 at Irvine and it was amazing. Whole night ended up being filled with classics like Typical, Rhyme and Reason, BOWA, Drive In Drive Out, Grace is Gone, Lover Lay Down, Nancies, Warehouse, 41, and Ants. 8 UTTAD songs. What a night.

Finished the first three episodes and starting #4... Definitely glad to hear more DMB pod-content (hint hint Joe/Matt), so sure hope you guys keep it going. Love the thorough reviews and song snippets. Would love to hear more general discussion topics to balance out the reviews... maybe use the boards for ideas?

BTW... sounds like you guys are going to be in Charlotte... if you're going to be tailgating and feel like meeting up, let me know...

That is a lot of pure classic DMB right there!

It has always had incredible replay value, for me at least. Great version

We are definitely going to be in Charlotte! At least as of right now haha. We are planning on trying to record some from the lot pre-show as well and would love to have some people join us with their thoughts on the tour, what they’re hoping for that night etc

When you say you’d like to hear more “general discussion”, what do you mean exactly? What else would you like for us to cover? We are open to any feedback so anything you think we could do to improve let us know

FYI I really enjoyed your discussion on Jeff's first show with the band...particularly how they came out firing with The Stone.

That Two Step intro is insane, absolutely love when Dave belts from a lower octave than say TGIY

As for the Gorge not this year, was never planning on going there this year but potentially next year.

Overlooked Two Step intro, especially if you really listen to what Dave says exactly and know some other background on him and Roi.

I guess I got confused with you going/trying to go this year and next year. Oops

I wish I was going this year, not just for the shows but the whole experience was unreal and I want to get to Mt Rainier. You were going and then couldn't iirc?

    Bruce,

I can do one of those email testimonials about Alpine weekend for what I assume will be the next podcast if you need anyone.

Re: The Corner of Grey Street Podcast

Brief Alpine recap.... definitely was a sense of anticipation of the band going back to Alpine for the first time in 3 years. There is always a certain level of electricity in the air there that most venues cant touch. A few takeaways.... N1 I like how normally segued songs were not segued yet still played. For instance you had ASTB>Too Much but had WWYS played later on in the set. Same w Warehouse in the third slot and Nancies being played 5 songs later. N2 because of a larger Saturday crowd, the band seemed to play the songs that get big pop that arent exactly hardcores favorities (Cornbread, Everyday, Bayou, Crash, Stay, Sledgehammer) while still dropping a couple gems in there for the hardcores like Lover Lay Down, JTR, and a Billies opener. Thought the early song placement of Shake Me was cool as it kept the energy going after the opening Billies. Overall N1>N2, another fantastic weekend of DMB music in Wisconsin.... was definitely worth the time and price of admission.

Another great episode. Nolan if I were you I would be worried about Bruce moving on without you! Really dug the "This Day in DMB History" for this episode. Love going back and listening to shows from 91'-94'. Looking forward to the next episode already.

Still lovin the podcast. One bit of feedback Bruce. Careful with your use of the word "little" we all have crutch words but I'd recommend snubbing this one for your podcast. "So then they played a little trippping billies with a little roi solo after that a little minarets" If it were a drinking game for the podcast where I drink every time you say little I'd be in detox lol

Another good ep. I felt like the Alpine portion was a little short, but thats probably just because I was there and selfishly wanted to re-live it more.

My only other comment would be that you seemed to be apologizing a lot towards the end for playing a lot of music, but I'd honestly consider playing more. I'm sure it's a lot more editing work and stuff, but hearing unique/cool moments from recent and old shows is the best part of the podcast - so not only don't apologize for playing a bunch of stuff, do it more!

Haha well I apologize if it was too short! I definitely understand wanting to hear more about it.

I love the music portions, but am always a bit uneasy about putting 2 1/2 - 5 minute portions of songs haha. I did a lot of cutting and editing to those songs on this week’s episode too just to keep them shorter. Hopefully they flowed well at least!

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely have crutch words and have to edit out some “umm’s” as well I’ll try to be more conscious of it in the future.

Would love to do this show! It was an all-time for sure. Some incredible runs in that show.

Thanks again! I was going to be doing a giveaway today, but Instagram (and Facebook and WhatsApp) has been down most of the day. Moving it to Friday instead!

Look forward to your insight my man.

As for podcast length.. for me it depends. Usually 45 minutes to an hour is ideal as a general rule (I'm looking in to starting up a podcast of my own, and I've been researching), but I think it depends on who your audience is. You're mostly capturing like minded fans and I don't think the length will bother them (us). We enjoy a good deep dive.

I'm one of those that if it's a topic I care about.. I don't mind it being longer.. and with all the content you guys are stuffing in, the length here is justified and I think needed. If you get complaints about it, you could always split it into two parts and issue them a few days apart. Of you could do themed shows.. one that's a review, one that's broader content and/or the history segment. Either way, I'm on board and really digging it.

Thanks for the feedback. Always helps to hear how people feel about the length or topics in general. See you Friday for podcast shenanigans!

I've been meaning to drop a line and compliment you guys on the podcast, but haven't had time until now. I'm really enjoying it so far! I've seen an improvement from episode 1 until now and I think you guys are really fine tuning this thing into a legit recurring podcast. I'm curious to see what you'll do in the off season.
In regards to the run time, I do not mind at all listening to an hour and a half or even more, as long as it's good intriguing content. I would say you should treat each episode on an individual basis and let it grow organically and not constrain it with an alloted run time. If there's enough good content on a subject, let the tape keep running! There will probably be some that need to stop at 45 minutes, but that's fine too.
I love the "This day in DMB history" segment. Keep it coming.
Post up something about where you'll be in Charlotte. I've been to every show in Charlotte since 2004, and I cant wait for this Friday. It would be cool to swing by and chat for a bit.
