A Lyrics Book

DMB and Phish are my two favorite lyricists. I think it'd be neat if they combined their favorites into an illustrated book. I'd buy that in a nice hardback edition.

Or they could each do their own and keep it separate, but I like the idea of these two bands coming together in some way, if not full on musically.

Would you like to see that?

That's a cool idea, but I really hate Phish, so I wouldn't want to see it with them.

A lyric book of DMB's work, yes please. No with Phish.

What are some tunes you'd guys like to see? The Ocean and the Butterfly is what inspired this thread in fact.

Cool idea, always jealous of the Dead related stuff like this my buddy has.

At quick thought, Trippin' Billies, Alligator Pie, YNK, Proudest Monkey, Snow Outside would all be cool.

    There's so many

Love both bands but I wouldn’t want them combined. Separately, sure.

    Re: A Lyrics Book

I always thought official lyric books were a cool idea. But mostly because I would want to find the differences between what's on print and what's on the song. You know there's no chance we would get an exact print of the words.

Also, merging bands is a bad idea. I understand why you would want this (I love X and Y, so X+Y would be even better!), but it's also not a marketable idea.

    Re: A Lyrics Book

I’ve always wanted to know where Dave’s thoughts were at, where his head was, what he was doing, where was he emotional and even geographically when the idea that germinated into The Stone came from, from Dave himself. We pretty much nailed Warehouse to a point where I don’t think Dave could expound upon it that we’ve already analyzed it as.
