A Holiday Inn and Wingate Inn share Riverport Drive with UMB. Harrah's is with in walking distance and there is a Four Points by Sheraton and Courtyard at the same exit. I would go with one of the first three choices.

The worst part about UMB is traffic, one way in, one way out. I have seen almost every DMB show at Riverport/UMB since 96. It has taken on average of 90 minutes to 2 hours to get out of the parking lot after a show.

Holemandaddy- I was not saying that the show was bad at all, I thought it was a pretty damn good setlist, I was meaning the crowd, and the fact that I hate to say it but riverport kind of sucks with views and the music never seems to be very loud.

Better get your tickets on Saturday, when single seats go on sale, because the Cardinals are anticipating this season to be sold out by Opening Day. If you can not get a ticket now, you can always pick up a ticket on the street the day of the game.

Thats my plan. I'm gonna just try to buy a few for each game. I am sure I can easily get rid of tickets I don't need.

    i agree about the crowd

and I really dislike modern amphitheaters like UMB with a covered pavillion, it just doesn't feel right to me. give me a complete open air theater any day

Do you mind if I ask which hotel? Last year I thought the hotel I stayed was "walkable" and to make a long story short we nearly missed Jurassic 5.

Both Wingate Inn and Holiday Inn are truly walkable, from what I understand.

I'm not going to lie - I'm tired of seeing DMB at the first show of the year. The songs still are rusty, his voice isn't very warmed up yet...etc.
I'll probably still go, but for once I'd like to see them during the "sweet spot" of the tour, before they get tired, when everything is jiving.

i agree completely. not the bands fault though. the only good of the 1st show is hearing new songs before anyone else.

That's true, like in 2004 we got to hear Crazy-Easy, Sugar Will, etc. first - but think about everyone who heard them the next day on the internet, and then got to see the refined, perfected, amazing versions in October.

Sorry to waste the post space but I forgot to add something. Anyone have a preferred hotel by UMB? I see alot of posts about the hotels but none seem favored over others.

Making the trip down from Chicago, I'll be sure to leave my cubs hat behind. What is the gambling age at Harrah's, i'm 21 but my better half is not, was wondering if it was 18 or 21. If not what is another good hotel, and some fun things to do during the day or after the show on the day of the event.

I went to UMB last year for the first time and my warehouse seats were disappointing (only time they weren't good all tour though ) anyways, the lawn looks like a good choice there, so I'm making it my one lawn show this tour. I put in lawn for my tickets on the warehouse, so does that mean I'll get preferred? Anyways, I see you're on your way to Nashville...going to antioch, too? I'll be there too among other places

At Harrah's, you must be 21 to gamble. I am pretty sure that Harrah's has a shuttle that goes to UMB (you might want to call them to confirm). There is a Holiday Inn and Wingate Inn that shares Riverport Drive with UMB and is about a ten minute walk to UMB. It is faster walking from your hotel than trying to get to the UMB parking lot. Also, there is a Dave & Busters at Riverport.

Hey thanks billikens, what would you recommend for a hotel, and what is the age after 10 and Dave & Busters is it like a Gameworks where it becomes 21 and up. Thanks for the help!

I am pretty sure it is 21 after 10 but you should contact them to make sure. As for a hotel, depending on your budget, I would go with the Wingate Inn or Holiday Inn Select. I know at Wingate you get a free breakfast in the morning.
