We did this WAAAAY back in 2002. Attempted to sleep in the airport. It was miserable and freezing. Would not recommend.

Thanks for the input - it worked out timing wise?

Oh yeah. I think we got to the airport at like 2am. Flight left at 6am.

I remember laying on the floor, shivering, and thinking non-stop about the sleeping in my checked bags.

We are teachers in Michigan and heading home Monday mid morning. We plan on driving back to Seattle Sunday after the show and getting up to head to the airport.

It will be a long day and an even longer Tuesday

I'm jealous of anyone who was there that weekend, I have no idea how it compares to other DMB Gorge weekends but just because I've seen the DVD so many times

What time is your flight? I'm really considering changing to the 7am instead of 5:15 but it'll cost us :/ Flying into DTW?

Honestly, the shows were MAGIC. I have such an insanely distinct memory of the clicky drum start of You Never Know (one of my faves to see live) which will stay with me forever.

Camping was a different story, staff were crazy about confiscating anything they could get their hands on, from booze to bongos (literally!). It was a bit of a nightmare, but we had SO. MUCH. FUN. and made the best of it.

Sorry if this has been asked. But does LN ever do any Premier camping ticket drops? Or are they gone? Still 3 months away but kinda freaking out I can’t find one. ...

hey everyone! So there are 51 pages to backread but I had a simple question, if I buy a weekend lawn pass, is that just an admission ticket? Because the weekend camping pass is equally priced. I don't mind buying both but I want to make sure one is for venue admission and one is for camping.

    This is correct.

Show tickets don't come with camping, and camping tickets don't come with show admission.

And you need show tickets to camp, not that many (any?) Would go to camp only, but that is half the fun!

Technically, yes...... I have never been asked to show tickets for the shows, nor have I heard of anyone else ever being asked to show them. There are people who camp and don't go to the shows, for a variety of reasons. They're crazy, but they do exist!

Maybe a dumb question, but do they have uber or lyft out there? Might be trying to get from The Gorge to Quincy on Sunday morning.

yeah...my thought on this one is that there are people who have their tickets will-called. what are they supposed to do? that's why I don't think many, if any, people are asked to show their show tickets upon entering.

Uneducated guess is that if you were acting up in the campgrounds, they'd ask you to produce your show tickets, and if you didn't have them, that would be a very easy way to give you the boot--rather than having a subjective discussion of what "too much acting up" is.

Technically it's in their "Eastern Washington" coverage area. No idea what the odds of a driver actually being by the venue when you want them though, especially during the day (as opposed to at night after the show.)

Phish has a 3-day run next month, so I'd do a test run on that Sunday; see if there are any drivers hanging around the venue.

This is exactly what I was thinking that policy was for.

Exactly this. Unfortunately there are people who go to Gorge specifically to rob campsites when shows are on. It is not common for DMB (though it does happen -- lock your shit up in your car and take your car keys!) but from what I understand it happens a lot at the festivals, like Paradiso and Watershed.

Having that rule in place means they can easily eject people if they're causing trouble or obviously not there for the shows.

    I don't think so.

There are some charter buses that run to and from some of the hotels in the area, you could look into that. Or find a cab in the place you're hotel is and try to pre-arrange post-show pick up -- for a hefty tip, of course!
