Yea, 9 years ago. If I were to be bitter about that, I put more blame on the offense going cold then a good team beating the Phillies 9 years ago.

    Braves fans are weird.

Totally fine with both reactions. Heat of the moment. Madbaum is a Giants legend. Muncy is just a baseball player who had a pretty solid 2018.

As is Buster Posey and Bruce Bochy. Love my Giants but I don't think they're winning the World Series this year. Bobby Evans fucked our team over.

Seeing as no one expected anyone to run away with the NL East this season, Braves fans once again getting sensitive about something that never happened.

Am I wrong in thinking this specific stance loses at least a little bit of credibility when apparently nobody even in the city of Tampa Bay gives a shit about watching them play? I mean obviously going by straight up statistics, there's a logic there. but the whole thing of bitching about exposure, your own home city don't give a fuck.

This ump's strike zone in the top of the 9th. Second pitch against Heyword and first pitch against Bote weren't even close to strikes yet called strikes. Yikes!

CB Buckner is laughably bad. He called strikes on balls a foot outside of the strike zone for both teams all night. I don't understand how umpires can keep their job when they are so awful.

Also, the Cubs can't win on the road for some reason. Kind of depressing.

and if I had to take a ballpark guess, I think he's been at this for a good 25 years. We need to borrow some sort of "term limits" concept to professional umpiring. I mean especially when you've got a job that's directly centered around being as focused and precise as you possibly can be with quick reflexes and attention, c'mon you reach a certain age where you can only possibly decline in your ability to do that.

shit and I just remembered, when they'd do the annual (or maybe once every couple years) anonymous player poll about umpires, going back for like at least a full decade ago now Buckner was routinely within the 1-3 spots. In this case where the larger number is what you'd want.

DJ LeMahieu, Yankees fans’ least favorite signing of the winter because they wanted Machado instead, is batting 29-62 with RISP.

I’m not saying LeMahieu is better than Machado. But one player has one set of stats this year and the other player has another set of stats.

I get the sentiment you're going for here but the DJLM signing was universally praised and regarded as an absolute steal of a signing before the season began. I don't recall anyone shitting on it, anywhere. In fact, I recall at least several season previews that had his versatility being the x-factor for this team.

I think we can all agree that no one expected him to be this good though.
