Venue opened on Feb. 1 with Trombone Shorty as the first show! What did you think the kinks were? I'm just pumped to have another new small venue like that nearby. From where I live, GR is not much further of a drive than it is for me to get to downtown Chicago.
Venue is great. Was surprised by the size and sound. Impressive. Areas to improve are all around (e.g. tickets/will call was a total Shitshow(. Biggest is the false information and bullshit approach to the 1st tier balcony. As the venue was new we didn't know what we were buying. The only options were ga floor and seated balcony. We bought seats. This has a few issues....1) the left and right UPPER balcony are obstructed view. We left our seat and gave to a poor young couple who could not see shit. It was still bad but better than nothing. Long story short they have a lot of obstructed view in a small venue. The building is not complex. Whoever designed it/approved it was ok are total dipshits. 2) they did not advertise a lower and upper balcony. As mentioned, our seats were obstructed (dirty glass in lieu of handrail, people walking up the stairs and the security guard standing right in our line of sight of the center mic). We realized upon arrival there was a lower balcony. We overheard someone asking how to sit there. $30/ticket (cash only) VIP. We paid it. Got great seats (basically the ines I thought I bought) and access to a private bar and bathroom area. They claim those are intended to be "season pass seats only" and they are just not sold yet so this is their current approach. I am aware this can be considered my bad and I will know the. Ext time I buy tickets. 3) the balcony railing/guardrail is dangerously low. I work in the construction field and the railing simply does not meet any code I have ever seen (or found since the show). The railing is maybe knee height (2-2.5' or 24-30") protecting a +20' drop to the main floor. I have been to a lot of shows, sporting events, etc. that is the only time I felt nervous. Everyone was talking about it. I got in touch with their management to hopefully help them avoid a lawsuit. They basically said "thanks, we are compliant with code".

well I discovered the Florence & the Machine song "Shake It Off" when hearing most of it just totally randomly on the radio the other day, though at the time I had no idea who it was/what it was called. I just knew that I really dug it a lot. And then when researching who and what it was, looking on the station's website and their recent playlist, having a vague recollection of when it was I heard it, I then wound up accidentally discovering the song "All We Ever Knew" by this band, the Head and the Heart. cause I'd thought initially maybe that's what it had been. and now I really like both songs a lot.
plus I gotta admit the woman in this band is pretty damn adorable.

No. Josiah was the one who liked/helped tapers.

I got shut down at the show I went to. Their sound guy was really cool but we couldn't get anything worked out in time.

No idea if this was just a one-time thing, but either way, it makes my heart happy seeing the band back together.

They have a special announcement via they're mailing list only in a few days. I hope it's Jos' return (which would be weird to announce via email), since he's been coming out for Rivers and Roads lately it seems.

I highly doubt it's a new album. The other one hasn't even been out for a year.

So what else could it be? Live album? Some sort of event show?

I've seen that song live a few times, and man, each time I've seen it, I've left each respective show or festival on a high like I can conquer anything. What a powerful tune.

That's definitely a bad sign... if he's ready to play shows, and still isn't back with HATH, he's probably never coming back. Sobriety was a convenient scapegoat for Jon just booting him out of the band.

Which, I realize, is what you've been saying this whole time. I've just been in denial.

i think it started as a conglomerate but jon strong armed and manipulated it into his band.

that's the vibe i got from the living room shows a couple years ago. the signs were there.

It was always Jon's band. He's the primary songwriter, the primary singer, the primary guitarist, and the charismatic leader.

Had a good time seeing this band for the first time last night, 4th row center was pretty sweet, I didn't think they were anything amazing / jaw dropping but a fun band. Their last song Rivers and Roads was really good!

I think the Mann Center in Philly jumped the gun a bit for Nathaniel Rateliff dates. They created an event that had them, and THATH opening. I went to like the event that they created and it said unavailable at this time. Sounds like a fun show.

Damn. I think the band will move forward and be fine, but this is now two members taking a break from the band in the past couple years. Hope for his sake it’s nothing too serious.

Also a good reminder of how lucky we were to have the core of DMB together for so long.
