Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Yes, it is very accurate, esp. given the approval & authenticity of Wiseau's approval. The book The Disaster Artist gives good detail.

He comes off way better in the movie than he does in real life. He’s a terrible human being.

Been spending some nights this week catching up on random movies that I just never saw, so far done:

    The Fighter - 8/10
    The Adjustment Bureau - 7/10
    Michael Clayton - 7.5/10

Quite enjoyed all 3. I've got Green Book, Ford vs Ferrari, Fury, Munich, and The Talented Mr. Ripley waiting on deck.

I'm pretty sure I've watched Karate Kid close to 1000 times in my life. But I'd still go to a drive-in to see it right now.

They have been showing some great classic combos all summer. Already checked out Jaws / Jurassic Park and ET / Back to the Future. Goonies / Stand By Me starts tomorrow.

It was pretty damn cool! This drive-in does a great job with pairings, they have 4 screens which gives the a lot of flexibility. A bit limited now with nothing new really coming out, but they been doing the whole Harry Potter collection two at a time, they did Friday the 13th / Nightmare on Elm Street one week, Holy Grail / Ghostbusters, Grease / Dirty Dancing...even did a dusk till dawn night the Saturday over the 4th with 4 movies on each of the screens! Really glad stuff like this still exists, even better that it’s 15 minutes away!

I hadn't really tracked this film since it was originally titled Jesus Was My Homeboy, but I haven't been this amped over a trailer in awhile:

    https://twitter.com/RoadshowFilms/st...859880960?s=20

    Quote:
Judas and the Black Messiah tells the story of Illinois Black Panther Party Chairman, Fred Hampton, and William O’Neal, the undercover FBI informant who helped bring him down. Daniel Kaluuya plays the charismatic 21-year-old radical activist, who was fighting for freedom for black people and the end of police brutality and murder when his life was cut short. The film also tells the lesser-known story of O’Neal, played by LaKeith Stanfield, who was coerced into helping the FBI infiltrate the Black Panthers and provide intel on Hampton.
Go ahead and give Kaluuya all the awards.

Was just coming in to post this and figured you’d be all over it. Looks fucking incredible. I think Daniel Kaluuya is going to go down as one of the best actors of our generation.

I’m glad Fred Hampton’s story is being told. It’s one of the most blatant examples of police getting away with real, actual, pre-meditated murder under the guise of “official police business.” Absolutely infuriating.

a matter of life and death

so happy I finally discovered the archers during quarantine. the photography here is so nice - the flames in the first scene are some of the brightest orange you'll see even in modern films. I appreciate livesay's character coming in midway through and taking over the movie. lost the thread a bit late when it spent way too long on britain vs. america, but overall another great watch from these guys
