Some of the really early ones don't really do much for me - seasons 1 and 2 when they were still finding their style and developing the personalities of the characters.

From Season 3 on though, I would say I love just about every episode.

Yes, the backwards episode is great, I don't know what they're talking about.

The only episode that I "dislike," and I use that as a relative term, is the one where Jerry is hitting on a girl in front of Elaine and she gets all weird about it and the entire episode, essentially, is the two of them being uncomfortable.

ELAINE: David, I am going to hell! The worst place in the world! With devils and those caves and the ragged clothing! And the heat! My god, the heat! I mean, what do you think about all that?

    PUDDY: Gonna be rough.

ELAINE: You should be trying to save me!

PUDDY: Don't boss me! This is why you're going to hell.

ELAINE: I am not going to hell! And if you think I'm going to hell, you should care that I'm going to hell even though I am not!

PUDDY: You stole my Jesus fish, didn't you??

    ELAINE: Yeah, that's right!!!

i think its great because its backwards. if it went chronologically, i dont think it'd be all that good.

as already mentioned...some of the earlier episodes are 'meh'. and the more i see it, the more i like the finale

REILLY: So, George. You're proposing a snow tire day at Yankee Stadium?

GEORGE: (through a mouthful) Long as they don't throw 'em on the field.
(laughs) Uh-uh. (indicating dish) Help yourself to some shrimp, I brought
    enough for everybody.

MCADAM: I have to say this, this proposal doesn't make a whole lot
    of sense.

GEORGE: Well, you never know. (picks up more shrimp) Let's see how many I can fit in my mouth.

REILLY: You know, George...the ocean called. They're running outta shrimp.

GEORGE: Oh yeah, Reilly? Well, the jerk store called. They're running outta you.

REILLY: What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller!

GEORGE: Yeah? Well, I had sex with your wife.

George looks round, smiling arrogantly, expecting laughter. But there is a
deep, uncomfortable, silence. Reilly, looks stony-faced. McAdam stands and
leans over to speak in George's ear.

MCADAM: His wife is in a coma.

On the DVD you can watch it chronologically, and yeah it obviously isn't quite the same. But I love that episode nonetheless.

But the entire series is just unbelievable, I really can't think of a clunker (apart from the finale). Some season 1/2 stuff was a little bland, but as someone said earlier they were trying to find their style. It's amazing to me how there can be so many episodes in a row that are top notch.

Yeah the style definetely changed after Larry David left but I completely agree - amazing consistency

It might be heresy, but I tend to like the seasons after he left much better than when he was there. The point where they completely detached themselves from even attempting to be realistic in the slightest was when it took off into another stratosphere.

When it went from basically Jerry and his friends as side actors to Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer it turned into a monster.

There's so many episodes where each character gets an equal story line, it's really amazing how they managed to flip the genre of a sitcom on its head.

ESTELLE (crying): I can't believe it, he was so young. How could this have happened?

STEINBRENNER: Well, he'd been logging some pretty heavy hours, first one in in the morning, last one to leave at night. That kid was a human dynamo.

ESTELLE: Are you sure you're talking about George?

STEINBRENNER: You are Mr. and Mrs. Costanza?

FRANK (yelling): What the hell did you trade Jay Buener for?!? He had 30 home runs, and over 100 RBIs last year. He's got a rocket for an arm - - you don't know what the hell you're doin'!!

STEINBRENNER: Well, Buhner was a good prospect, no question about it. But my baseball people love Ken Phelps' bat. They kept saying 'Ken Phelps, Ken Phelps'.

No, gotta disagree with you. Maybe it is just the backwards element that makes the episode great. But that doesn't prevent it from being completely original. One of my favorites.

This is my favorite Seinfeld moment EVER. There is something so genius and perfect about the setup - he tells them their son is dead, and Frank's reaction is to let him have it for a baseball move. Priceless.

Can we all agree The Contest is one of the greatest sitcom episodes of all time? The moment that Kramer comes into Jerry's apartment and slams his money on the counter after they had been looking at the naked lady across the street is GOLD!

    What is that?
    It's my new coat.
