Outside Lands Music Festival 2012

I am hearing some impressive rumors circulating about the lineup, which drops tomorrow.

Sigur Rós, Dispatch, Portugal the Man, MSTRKRFT, Walkmen, Regina Spektor, Amadou and Miriam all but kangfirmed. And those aren't even the alleged headliners.

I wonder what the chances of Bruce Springsteen closing out the festival on Sunday? From the link in the first post the headliners could be

Friday: Duran Duran
Saturday: Norah Jones
Sunday: Bruce Springsteen (my own theory. Not in the link above)

I guess we'll find out Tuesday.

The Coachella forums are saying the headliners are Metallica, Neil Young and Stevie Wonder (not necessarily in order).

I heard Springsteen pretty early on, but now that talk has pretty much died.

It wasn't insanely hot. Fairly warm during the day, and almost cool at night.

not a humungous fan of the acts so far, but i'm still praying for Gaslight...if not, it'll take a really irresistable lineup for me to go. i've been looking forward to tomorrow for a long time though.

How so? Foo Fighters headline everywhere they go. Never mind lineup is out. What a monster lineup. Superfly did better with Outside Lands than Bonnaroo. Holy shit.

That is the most top heavy thing I've ever seen. A beautiful thing to look at. Metallica and Neil Young at one festival is tasty.

The only year I feel like had a good, deep lineup the whole way through was the first year. Holy shit, that thing was stacked.

I think we're saying the same thing.

I'm surprised Foo Fighters would sign on to a bill where they would play an undercard or second-tier or whatever you wanna call it. The main-stage closing artist for each night is gonna be Metallica, Young and Wonder.

I'm not complaining. I'm just a little surprised they'd sign on to play second banana.

Dave Grohl is cool as shit though. Doesn't surprise me that he would be down with opening up for Neil Young, if they happen to play on the same day. He is still very much an avid fan of rock music.

Excellent point. He gave this little speech at Bridge School last year about how much he admires Neil.

But you're right. The lineup is here. Surprised they brought Big Boi back after last year's debacle.

Wow great names, but I can't say I'm a huge fan of any of these acts. I obviously know a lot of Neil and Stevie, but only the hits and classic albums. Can't really say I can sing along to all of it. Bleh, I really wanted to go- looks like I'll have to do some thinking.

See some people complaining about the lineip. Big time LOL at that. That lineup is freaking awesome. Metallica outdoors are more than incredible, and then a ton of good artists. Sigur Ros=yes please! Been to that festival once in 2009 for DMB/Pearl Jam and it was pretty sweet. I'll be going for sure this year no damn doubt about it
