Jeez, club full of teens. That's horrible. This read like it was some kind of gang thing. What's worse is I read that headline and thought "oh good, only two dead, that's not that many".

Part of me hopes that this is just the bad before the good. You look at events through history in America and we have these dark decades and things get really bad before the light shines through and then we have a decade or so of calm and peace. I hope we look back in a few years and can say "wow, we were really in a dark place in the world, but things are so much better now." I hope.

My gf grew up in FL, there's a lot of 18+ clubs there. She used to go to them all the time, even at 15-16. It's fairly normal, from what I understand.

Sanctioned by whom exactly? Young teens, <15 or 16 I would say, have no business being out most places around Midnight. Few exceptions, I suppose, but a club? No freaking way.

A midnight or later curfew is extremely generous for 14, a ton more so for 12. Special occasion maybe but as a standard time to be home, no way.

In general I agree with the spiritof nothing good happensafter midnight for this age group.

Age 12-14 is Grade 7-9. The argument that a kid that age going to an organized event that goes past midnight, in the middle of summer no less, is unacceptable or bad parenting is almost laughable.

Well, in terrorist situations, all the people killed are usually innocent.

In Chicago, I'd say the majority of people killed are involved in a lifestyle where they know death is a serious every day concern.

Makes it easier to empathize with terror murders compared to trying to stop in-fighting where if one side didn't kill first, the other side would have done it later.
