My concerns, of which there are many, all boil down to one key point: I believe that Trump made this move because it would be to his own benefit. I don't think he did it for the world, or for America, or for his base, or for the people of Syria. I think somebody convinced him that the right way to squash the Russia investigation and recover his disastrous poll numbers was to do what he always does, punch someone else in the face.

From what we know of Hillary, she would have likely reacted in a similar way. The difference is that her action would have been consistent with her own foreign policy, her history as a hawk, etc. With Trump, I hope we are all coming to the realization that he would happily shed any personal/moral conviction if he saw an opportunity to make people like him. That strikes me as incredibly dangerous, and to steal a line from the Avett Brothers, I'm frightened by those who don't see it.
