If the US Supreme Court overturned Roe V Wade, and then states criminalized abortion, states could legally put people in prison for having or performing abortions. It would be unjust, but it would not be illegal. And if abortion rights proponents then started violent attacks against civilians, that would be even more wrong.

Regarding your second question, it's quite obtuse, considering that Israel has a robust military defense that reduces the killing. I personally find targeting civilians more atrocious than targeting military assets - what about you?

It's not obtuse. It's literally how things are. There are quantifiable results. I don't know if I can say which murdering of innocent people is worse, but I definitely wouldn't sugarcoat one side's recent history, under a leader whose removal is being celebrated around the world, for carrying out missile strikes and murdering countless civilians any time it needed to escalate the conflict for a political boost.
