Chills, shaking uncontrollably, diarrhea, runny nose.

Perhaps it's just a really strong strain, or some kind of reaction to my covid anti-bodies or something?

Anyone experience something similar?
I got both shots at the same time and it was the same reaction I always get for flu/covid shots, which is just a sore arm for about a day.

I think I had the chills/shaking last year after my flu and boo, so dunno which one did it, maybe the cocktail. A good long hot shower fixed it.

Just got mine yesterday (plus flu) and woke up before 5 with a bit of a chill. Another hot shower helped then I tried to go back to sleep. Big headache later on and arm is sore. Tylenol, Powerade, breakfast and coffee have helped.

My local Costco finally got rid of the security-theater flexi glass on the checkout lanes.

I don't know if I've seen that in a while at places, or I just don't notice. But in my department's little cubicle area, we have like 4 half-wall cubicles end to end that they added thick plexi between, basically making them full height "walls" but clear obvs.

As that kinda thing went away in general, everyone sitting at those desks have decided they were fine keeping them just because it kept noise down a little between everyone. And the girls sometimes decorate them or write on them with dry erase markers

Getting my flu shot and 7th (!) Covid shot this morning. Hope the new concoction doesn't lay me out like the 2nd (Moderna) did.

Why did you get 7? Are you high risk? The "normal" routine is 5 shots for someone who has received all of them.

My lungs aren't perfect to begin with and where I live, some neighbour smokes below me so I'm constantly being exposed to second-hand smoke, despite having an air purifier.

But as to now having had seven Covid shots, I got one this past May not realizing it was essentially the same one I got last December. I thought it was an updated shot. I think. Maybe I'm getting confused. I think I just followed the recommendation for getting a Covid shot at least every six months. I don't believe I've had the virus yet either. Anyway, I probably don't need another one until next November.

OK, that makes sense. High risk people were allowed to get an additional booster earlier this year I believe and, yes, it was the same shot as the one last fall I think.

After 3 years of dodging this bullet, our little angel 5 mo old daughter brought it home and got us all.

We took her to the doc last week thinking she had allergies or something, doc said she had an ear infection. We now know it was COVID. I guess I should've raised the alarm when I couldn't smell her dirty diaper over the weekend. Really though it was just my allergies.

It's got me down pretty good, but it could be much worse. Had some minor fever/chills, congestion, drainage, headache, fever, loss of smell. The worst has been the cough. It's been productive and pretty violent at times. Had some minor shortness of breath but mostly if I get up and try to do to something.

I'm definitely feeling better every day. Just hoping it's not one of those cases where you start to feel better then get hit by the second wave.

It's sort of wild to think of people getting covid for the first time in November of 2023 to be honest.

Yeah, I was actively trying to be reasonably careful for the first 2.5 years of the pandemic (worked from home, always masked indoors, avoided eating out indoors, etc.) and I got it in June 2022. Best I could tell I got it at an outdoor baseball game, which was surprising because the person I was with didn't get sick. This year I haven't really taken any special precautions since levels have been low. I bring a mask with me if I'm flying, but I only wear it if I can tell people are sick in the area. I eat out and go to events/concerts. Haven't had it since the first time. I got sick a few weeks ago for the first time in about 9 months, but it wasn't Covid.

Anyway, multiple friends got Covid last week in, I believe, unrelated events. I wasn't with them, but it derailed our Friendsgiving plans that we had for the weekend.

Thanks! Feeling much, much better today. Still a cough, some barely noticeable congestion/drainage and getting winded when moving too much. I can tell my smell is starting to return too, so that's nice.

What's wild is, I haven't really taken any precautions since late 2021. I saw 82 shows in 2021, 125 in 2022, and 61 thus far this year. We eat out every weekend, travel a few times a year and see friends often.

The only reason we caught it is our daughter brought it home. I really wonder how long our streak would've gone were it not for her.

I had a little bit of a coughing fit so I took a Covid test, clearly positive lol. I feel fine though, not coughing anymore and no symptoms other than that, so hopefully this is a largely asymptomatic case.

To my knowledge I’ve still never tested positive or been diagnosed.

I lived life relatively normally during the pandemic while following all the protocols and 100% normally since restrictions have lifted.

The only exception is that I’ve been exclusively WFH since 3/16/2020 so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it. My wife works outside the house and has pretty much the whole time and kids are in school so there’s definitely potential for exposure.

    Maybe I’ve just been lucky.

We caught it because our 6 mo daughter brought it home. We would've probably gone the full four years had she not brought it in.

I got it from a coworker back in July who got it while on vacation and came back pretty quick. He has a company issued laptop and can work from home. Somehow our boss in the three person office managed to not get it.

Thank god I'm getting Covid out of the way before Christmas. Last year the entire household got it, and we postponed everything until the middle of January.

Feeling a little worse than yesterday. Feels like a cold and no fever yet, but I feel like I'm starting to get warm and a headache. Hope this is the worst it gets.

this is not the same thing. this is asbestosis and can also sometimes be asbestos-related lung cancer.

For those who've had covid & took Paxlovid, did any of you guys experience toothaches in the midst of that? I'm just on Day 2 of Paxlovid but it felt like there was no issue with my teeth and now on one side I have a real continuous "ache", feels weird. My husband says that can come with sinus pressure, and I'm congested but not horribly so.

Anyone have anything similar? Trying to decide if in middle of having covid I have to go to dentist! Who of course I would tell I had covid.
