I mean, maybe it's controversial because the construction job being discussed is controversial but this is why there are lobbyists. If lobbyists didn't pay dividends companies wouldn't spend billions each year lobbying candidates from both sides.

It's kind of hard to prove that politicians are corrupt when very few of them are charged with corruption.

That said, I stand by the idea that entities don't spend money on lobbying without the expecation of returns and the amount of money spent on lobbying has almost tripled in the past 30 years.

He’s doing this at an event claiming how great he’s doing for farmers. Could you imagine if another President had to spend billions for losing a trade war? Socialized farming is here, because this war isn’t going to end.

I made clear the distinction about asking about the President, you said "yup, there's evidence of tons of Presidents doing this as BAU". I asked for evidence of Preaidents operating that way. You provided nothing. You're now talking about Blaggo, who has not been President.
