Looks like there may be a fungus among us (or just a little summer burnout)

Just some summer stress. 90 degree temps and zero rain for the past couple of weeks.

Haven't been able to mow for a week and a half cause of my foot. I was aided a bit by the hot, dry weather but it still needed it today. Front doesn't look too bad. Back yard is looking kinda thin and not very green. Put the sprinkler back out for a bit. Looks like some rain possible this weekend.

We have gotten a half to an inch of rain every day for the last week and a half. The yard is like walking on a waterbed. The grass is about 7 or 8 inches high. It's going to be a nightmare getting it mowed when it dries up enough to do so. When that will be God knows. It's Florida by the way.

hmm. yeah. that's all I've got.

Is it possible someone else planted corn at your mailbox, maybe as some kind of prank with a long awaited payoff?

Stripes out for 'Merica. Haven't done this at this house yet. Doesn't look as awesome as on my old huge front yard but oh well.

First mow at our new home, great feeling although our yard needs some major help! Not even sure where to start, but have other projects going on so haven’t even begun to do any research.

Wow, looks incredible. Great job!! I really need to get a lawn striper. I made one a few years ago but it never came out looking like that.

It's only rained 4 times in the last 6 weeks here with temps in the upper 80's to mid-90's nearly every day. We've had a total of 2.5 inches of rain in that time period, so it's still ridiculously dry here. Terrible year for the lawn.

It was bad here in the Northeast last year... I think I mowed a total of 3 times all summer.

I've already lost count this year.

I didn't realize 4th of July was a Milo holiday. I missed it and I am headed to Massachusetts for the week for a golf tournament. Oh well, I'll be a few weeks behind schedule.

Yeah my back yard looks almost like all the "work" I did (money I paid) as far as aeration/seeding last fall has been completely undone. So much bare ground showing through again. Maybe it'll end up a little better than it was last year by the time I'm ready to aerate and seed again, and it'll end up being a sort of 2 steps forward/1 step back kinda deal for a couple years.

Front yard still looks fine. But where I dug up my monkey grass and have brown mulch, some of those fuckers are continuing to grow through the mulch. Weed spray didn't take care of them, so I'm gonna have to dig em up some more.

Another reason to love battery mowers and other machines; I mowed last night at around 9pm cause we've had heat advisories and it was at least in the low 80s with no sun. It was rather nice. Even got to make use of the typically-useless headlights on the mower And I wasn't disturbing any neighbors since it's as quiet as a vacuum.

We have a dead pine in our back yard, that has an unfavorable lean to it and needs to come down. It’s about 50’ I’d guess, I have no problem taking it down myself but have no clue what to do with it after. It’s pretty lean, nothing at all salvageable, and from past experience with pines you end up with more branches and bows than you planned for. Don’t think burning is an option, don’t own a pick up so even taking trips to the dump seems unreasonable. What kind of options are out there? Do they rent chippers? Not even sure if that’s realistic given the fragile nature. Any thoughts?

It’s pretty lean, nothing at all salvageable, and from past experience with pines you end up with more branches and bows than you planned for. Don’t think burning is an option, don’t own a pick up so even taking trips to the dump seems unreasonable. What kind of options are out there? Do they rent chippers? Not even sure if that’s realistic given the fragile nature. Any thoughts?
Why can't you cut it up and burn it?
