As a soon-to-be new parent, this will probably be my only show this summer, between the kid and the 4 weddings I have to go to, so I'm expecting this to live up to the reputation we've built in past summers.

I usually hang at the bars up near the Hampton Inn and then just walk down to the venue.....eliminates the headache of getting out of that place......however, does the tailgate start back up after the show? Does the venue security allow you to stay after the show?

Gainsville Hampton Inn.....you can walk to the venue from here.

No, not a huge fan of Jager anymore. One too many Jagerbombs in law school.

Considering making my first trip to the Bristow scene and might be going solo. Suggestions on the venue itself? Pit, pavilion, lawn...? What's good?

Pit or seats in the 100/200 level are good. The 300 level is pretty far from the stage, and I try to avoid the lawn there. The pit is huuuuuge, and there's usually a group of Ants who hang out at the back of the pit where you've got room to dance. Also, the pit slopes up slightly, so if you stand at the back, you're not looking up as far at the band, and you can also see over the people in front of you.
